Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

In the A grade, Broadies got away well but Walkies piled on the pressure and fought back well to take the lead late in the 3rd.

Few moves made by the Weed, steadied the ship and Broadies came away with the points.

Walkies are way better than zip and 3, their forward line pressure in the 2nd and 3rd 1/4 was unreal and that got them right back in the game.

Also what a great crowd, apart from hosting a G/F last year i cannot remember a crowd that big at Broadview in the last 5 to 6 years

Estimate of crowd number??

Hard to estimate the crowd but were 4 deep on the western mound and large groups all around the outer side, know the BBQ etc had sold out prior to half time, my guess would be between 1200-1500 but in saying that i am not the best judge on crowd numbers

Walkerville can not be happy.they have a coaching group that has fitted into the "old boys" group that the preaident wanted yet have not had a win.as good a coach they think gary cock is he did coach a Mitcham team that got relegated or was close to it anyway.maybe the bloke juat cant coach

Fair crack there WIM. You mention Cocky's year at Mitcham, but you fail to mention he coached our B Grade to 3 GFs in a row and a flag in 2011 so his coaching mustn't be that bad. We've lead at 3/4 time in two games but just haven't been able to finish it off. The players are confident in Cocky's coaching ability and a win isn't far away.

Nothing wrong with Walkerville pushed us all the way and were still leading in the last quarter when our guys just dug in deep for the win.
Thought the Walkerville monkey on our back was going to continue. We may not have played them in 39 years but they are one a very few clubs that have a winning record against us 18-11 their way.

As I said before they will be around the mark and their 1st win is not far away they will trouble quite a few sides before the seasons over, looking forward to the return bout will be another bumper crowd and close game that's for sure.

A large crowd of friends, family, and spectators ventured to Saint Michaels College to honour the Men and Women of Anzac paying homage to their service, memory, and sacrifice. Particularly moving during the address was the playing of the last post by Bugler Leo Fechner and a great rendition of our National Anthem sung by two young teenagers one of whom was Coach Lucas Stubings daughter...One of the day's highlights....

The large and appreciative crowd witnessed a great game between SMOSH West Lakes and PHOS Camden that lacked nothing in courage and commitment. The 'Lions' dominated early but the last quarter saw the 'Phantoms' stage a spirited fight back to fall short by 10 points. Presentation of Anzac Day Game Medals as nominated by the opposing coaches to the best player on each side went to the 'Lions' Stefan Thomas and the PHOS Camden's Aaron Bergsma. PHOS is a far better side than their O-3 start would suggest..... The intensity in Division 2 this season seems to have stepped up a notch from last year..... or at least it seems that way albeit only after three rounds into the season.....

Good luck to Walkerville against Gepps Cross in both the A's and the B's. The A's are so close to their first win, so lets hope its this Saturday.

Fantastic 4 quarter effort from PNU. Some scrappy footy was on display but its always good to get the points. PNU vs SHOC at Thebby should be a cracker.

After kicking the opening goal, poor ball handling and indecision and poor judgement when in possession, resulted in too many 'Lion' turnovers which had them playing catch up football all day.

The 'Falcon' runners found plenty of space and played disciplined football ensuring they never looked like losing the game.... A massive change in attitude and work rate by every player will be needed if they want to avoid a repeat of that performance against the winless Cats next week.
