can we add an option, have lost continual interest over the past decade.... However my interest in AFL has gained a lot more interest...
still have some interest, but no where near as passionate about my side, infact I'm sorta following 2 teams and thinking about jumping ship from the side ive followed my whole life...

I'm more interested because the Blues are performing better than my other Blues. And that the AFL has sooooo many junk games with coaches protecting their ego by 'limiting the damage' rather than teaching blokes how to go about winning.
Roughly 40% of the games in the SANFL are "junk games" this year - though not for reasons of ego protection.
Needless to say that my personal interest in the comp as a whole has decreased.

Seriously the competition was relevant enough to 36,000 people last October.

The only interest I have in the SANFL this year is looking up the live score and results threads on this forum...I haven't been to a match this year and probably won't be going to one. I only attended half the matches last year (90% of them home matches)...

You could debate that this has been going on come finals time with players being pulled out for injuries, real or not.
Trust the process.

I'll only attend centrals home games and the away game against south. I actually prefer the fact the afl players are out of the "real" teams, it removes one inequity. As for the sanfl in general, it's a bit like watching the female swimming a few Olympics back with the Chinese "women" competing, what's the point.

Won't be back until those AFL $#%# are gone and quite prepared for that to be never.
Pour what's left of my love of footy into my boy's two teams now.
Thanks a lot to everyone who had the best interests of SA football at heart.
What a farce.

Would like to see the Roosters going a bit better than they are. Good to see South on the improve, I actually hope its not just early season form & the "normal" South returns from June onwards!
Other than that seeing the Adelaide reserves bottom provides me with a hearty chuckle!

So 62% have lost interest in the League, only 11% have more interest because of the AFL teams, not exactly what was sold to us at the club meetings to explain the yes decision or what is being sold to us in the media.
With clubs already struggling how can they sustain in this new environment where people are losing/lost interest?

But putting my statistician's hat on and playing the devil's advocate, how biased a sample are we?
Crowds don't seem to be down by as much as our little poll would suggest...

Not having a go but if more people did this there is a real chance the club could fold.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

and the problem with that is????
perhaps those in charge should have atleast listened to the concerns of members rather then bending over for Triggy

Biased? I think our members are a good cross section of SANFL support, Im not sure where else you might get a more accurate sample of people who are "core" SANFL supporters than here.

If any bendover club dies, the directors who bent over are at fault.

Sadly thats what I expect will happen to a few clubs, they were under enough pressure when the competition was genuine. However the club went into this with its eyes wide open, despite not getting any feedback from its members.

It should be noted that Sydney won the Canberra comp (the ACTAFL) in 2005-08. So I fully expect Port to dominate early. Whether they will going forward will be another thing.

Re: What is you interest so far in the SANFL competition in
I haven't been to a SANFL or AFL game all year so far and i have no intention of going. The past 8 years I went every week. I will not support the AFL under 10s game style that is being forced upon us together with the farce of the AFL reserves playing in the SANFL. I am not a member of my club any more as they went against our members wishes.
