Coming Soon
Didn't wanna start a whole new thread for just one movie so here's a generic "movie crap thread", similar to the TV discussion thread.
Anyway, the first trailer for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar is out.
Could be Gravity with a story.
Access code: 7201969.

Re: Coming Soon
Tusk - Kevin Smith's first movie since Red Dawn. It's horror-themed and a podcast journalist visits a talent, who then begins to turn him into a walrus. Yes, a walrus. The trailer actually looks okay.

Red State was mental! Tusk looks pretty nuts, too.
So does the leaked test footage from Deadpool, the movie Marvel may or may not ever make. Every time it gets taken down, someone puts it back up. When will big business learn?

Gonna be hard to avoid all the Guardians of the Galaxy crap until it officially opens next Thursday.
Especially since everyone hits up the advance screenings this weekend.
Then blast it all over Facebook, Twitter and s#!t...

Re: Coming Soon
Ghostbusters reboot/sequel rumoured to have female leads.
Fresh take to distance itself from the 80s movies is probably a good thing.
Now who would be the Lady Ghostbusters?

Mad Max Fury Road looks mental.
Also looks more like the natural sequel to Road Warrior.
Best bit in the trailer is when they cut his raggedy Thunderdome-ish hair...

I've got a fellow Marvel nut here at work who went along to an advanced screening of this and can't rave enough about it! Said the only downer about it is that they try and jam a heap of information at times (when introducing characters in to the movie), but other than that he loved it.

A few mates went along at the weekend and loved it.
Gonna be a pain in the proverbial seeing it this week.
But I'll probably (reluctantly) brave the crowds...

Electric Boogaloo: The Wild, Untold Story of Cannon Films.
Mark Hartley - Not Quite Hollywood and Machete Maidens Unleashed - completes his trashy trilogy with a look at legendary tight-arse Israeli film cowboys Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus.
Pretty pumped to see all the crazy s#!t these nutjobs pulled.
Especially the bit where Golan pitches a movie to Clyde, the orangutan from Every Which Way But Loose.
Dying to know if Clyde took his money...

Re: Coming Soon
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
From what I have seen we can expect a typical Michael Bay film. While this is a good thing as he does over the top action (CGI action) better than anyone in the game, I don't think this is big on my agenda for this movie.
My main need/ want from TMNT is to be engaged by the characters and feel as though I am part of the movie, just like I got from the originals in the 90's (now they were amazing IMO).
From limited reviews I have seen, it seems as though this may happen, but I can't say I usually watch a movie the "same way" the reviewer is so I will hold judgement until then.

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' isn’t great, nor is it a disaster. There have been better stories made about these characters, including the 1990 feature film, but there also have been plenty of weaker ones. Despite the strange revamp of the Turtles into huge, superpowered behemoths who seem ready to throw down with Colossus or the Thing, the film does a nice job of capturing their brotherly in-fighting, camaraderie and rapport. Much of the movie is just sort of 'there' though, except for that notably entertaining snow-based action sequence – which stands out for also having fun taking the Turtles out of their usual city terrain."
I am still very keen to see this considering how much I loved the 90's versions.

Re: Coming Soon
Never got into TMNT - I was just a few years too old back in the day - but since I see the trailer pretty much every time I go to the movies these days, I'm gonna check it out.
The gratuitous shot of Megan Fox's arse in the trailer has Michael Bay written all over it...

I think you will just watch it for what it is and enjoy it a little bit more compared to the die hard followers. It is just one of those ones you have to watch even if you aren't fully in to it.
For some reason I still prefer the 90's April O'Neil (Judith Hoag) though!

Star Wars would be my equivalent.
But even though the prequels were terrible movies I don't wish any ill on George Lucas.

Star Wars is my all time favourite! It will be interesting to see what they serve up with the next couple the are making.

Reakon JJ Abrams, Larry Kasdan & co. will deliver the goods.
Definitely expect something - at the very least - as good as ROTJ.
And one day I hope they reboot the Sith out of the prequels...

Alison Brie, Olivia munn, or some other super hot but also funny chick that the internet loves and will ensure a groundswell or support on the interwebs. Hot gifs of a scantily clad sweaty Alison Brie tackling my big slime monster.
Or is that just my dream

Yeah true. I guess they have a lot more gadgets and the like at their disposals to make something good. Have you seen the film of the Imperial Forces at Frankfurt airport?
