Re: Marathon/Half Marathon Running
Who's entered on Sunday and how far are you running?
Had a bit of a hip complaint which slowed me down for a bit, but have got through a couple of decent long runs this last week.
Will be putting my entry in for the half marathon after Wednesday's corporate cup run

Re: Marathon/Half Marathon Running
I got the flu over the last 2 weeks so did not manage to enter the Adelaide half...which sucks cause that was on my list this year. So far I have been unable to do the Claire half (achilles), Barossa (hip) and now Adelaide (flu).
My last chances this year are City Bay and Yurrebilla...fingers crossed!

Re: Marathon/Half Marathon Running
If I were to do a competitive half marathon that would be the type of time I would aim for.

There's plenty to choose from during the year.

That's a bad trot, hope things improve for you.
Was a great morning for it, a pretty nice course, and well run event. I stuffed up my run and was cooked during the 35-40k period. Only have myself to blame, and some lessons learnt.

Re: Marathon/Half Marathon Running
Sounds painful mate! What did you do wrong?
I'm managing 50-60kms a week now leading up to Yurrebilla with a mix of road (2) and trail (2) runs. Looks like everything is coming to plan for City Bay and Yurrebilla (touch wood!)

Doing the City to Bay for the first time ever and kinda looking forward to it
Have really only started running for it last week. started at 3km and every run have increased by a km, tomorrow will by 7.5-8km. have been experimenting as well and have found 5.30 minute kms a comfortable pace!
What sort of km avgs do other follow posters run at for these sort of events?

And a bit embarrassing walking along the main road near the zoo.
Stuffed up my tapering esp length of longer runs on the two previous weekends, and also went too hard from about 10-25km, not pateient and running against people rather than worrying about my own running.
What sort of length long runs are you doing for Yurrebilla?
Haven't been paying much attention to the City-Bay, has there been any cross-promotion with the SANFL GF?
