There is an app for it too.

I scheduled my plan last night to run my first full marathon in May next year.

149 runs covering 1444km over the next 37 weeks

Which marathon are you planning on doing and what target time?

Yurrebilla 56k trail ultra done for another year and I am saying now, in print, I retire from this event. This was horrendous with the conditions!
Got 8:06 which all I was hoping for was around last years time (8:01) so reasonably happy esp. with the conditions. Had a mate have to pull out at 33km mark which was devstating for him.

That was Brutal today, Toughest running day i have ever had.
Was hoping to go under 7hrs and pushed a bit early on and then by 37km I was in big trouble.
Made it home in 7:28 and pretty happy in the end.The last 20km were terrible.

Now its time for a few coldies :D

I think everyone feels like that straight after the event, give it a few weeks/months and you forget how much it hurt you might think twice and say why not try it again.
I have definitely got unfinished business with Yurrebilla.

I dunno mate...I just don't think my 6'2" 87kg body is up for 56km of trail. My Yurrebilla results are so different to my training results. If I do it again, I need to alter the training and put (even) more elevation in it.

What GPS gear are you all using to track your progress. Previously I have had a Garmin 610, which frustratingly went missing.
Looking to replace. Really rated the 610, but thought id see what you guys were using.

I use the garmin 910xt which is a multi sport watch (running, cycling and swimming). I think its just the next model on from the 610. It's a bit faulty on the elevation measurements (always under what it actually is). The main reason I got the 910xt was the battery life (20 hours). If it's just running, then the 310 would probably be a good one (without knowing a great deal about it).

Car odometer and $30 watch.

And well done Pels and MW on the Yurebilla. Can imagine it was hell. Do you have many walking stints or breaks at stations?

Definetly FlyingHigh.
The climb out of Horsenells, the climb out of Morialta and the climb up Black hill there was a bit of walking for sure.
