Re: SAAFL Div 3
All the comments made on the Iggies Raggies clash are right & wrong
The little short arse runt of & umpire is nothing short of a little Hitler He is suppose to control the game NOT be the centre of attention
As a mate of mine always says "you could not help yourself you maggot" That applied to the SAR umpire
Trish being sent off Jarmin took a contested mark raising his arm to shake free an opponent the SAR maggot reversed the decision Then Trish mouthed off & SAR gave a 25 to make sure of a goal
Apparently from now on all Raggies players sent off will spend the next week in the B's
One player mouths off every week apparently has never been sent off but word has it he will never play again for Raggies if sent off The coach had better re-think this bullshit
As for SAAFL head honchos you better tell the umpires coach to tell the umpires to report players not just send off & 25m penalties The umpires do not want to spend a night at the tribunal for anything short of a king hit virtually It is a night away from home
Anyone any thoughts?

It's more effective to send blokes off (well it's supposed to be) however incorrectly sending guys off hurts teams more obviously. It's a fine line.
I agree about the reporting, night away from home etc though. King hits, kicking, biting must be instant reports.

I agree with this point. In my opinion umpires would rather just give a send off than make a report. Sometimes the report is needed. Its there for a reason.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Re: SAAFL Div 3
Gees And I thought our umpiring was bad on the weekend!
Can't speak for your game lads, but the problem with ours was Umpires were too kene to pay free kicks. Every contest, they wanted to give a free kick if there wasn't a clear mark. One Pac dude jsut kept saying jsut elt us play football, and the Umpy just looked at him and had nothing to say. (having said that, this dude looked like he was about to start crying).
Raggies seem to have a lot going on at their club ATM. Interesting to see how much it affects them on the field (obviously did a lot against Iggies).
We've got a touggh 3 weeks coming up - Iggies at home this week, with a few to come back in I think. Should be a good game. Then Walkerville away and Raggies at home. Guess we'll find out where we stand.

Re: SAAFL Div 3
Raggies had a good win. Eastern Park using unusual tactics, using a 2 way radio to communicate with the runner, it got banned after quarter time by the umps. EP will try anything. Danny Walton and Ryan McGee very lucky not to get reported, especially Walton. EP huddle at 3 quarter time was explosive, thought there was going to be a fight. Loved it (from a Raggies point of view).

Re: SAAFL Div 3
Good old eastern park aye. What were the supposed reportable incidents?
We beat Walkerville by 4 points. Superb win with so many key players out. One of the most shocking umpiring displays of all time. Just so many complete ludicrous calls, especially late in the game. SO many goals from free kicks both ways. Two young female boundary umpires couldn't throw the ball in and more then half of the throw-ins had to be recalled.
Missing our 4 out of our best 5 midfielders, another key player goes down in the first quarter, our no.1 ruckman and several other first choice players. Everyone stepped up massively.
I wonder if Walkerville were missing anyone, because I thought they were a better side then that. oh, and that cement drainage thign they have round the perimeter of the ground sucks. I slipped and smashed my hip on it in the last, massive brusing and sore as.
Fight for top spot at SMOSH this week. Hopefully get some blokes back from injury. Tough selection week. Should be an awesome game. Can't wait.

It's funny how behind the times they are, we tried that about 6 years ago and it failed too..

What did Danny Walton do wrong?
He's normally a pretty good bloke and fair player.

This over weight hero, ran 60meters after the siren to get to the group & you would think being the vice captain he would try & pull his players away but instead he hits the raggies ruckman after the siren at the end of the 3rd qtr. (The raggies ruckman didnt retaliate) & just moved on from it.
Apparently the Eastern park coach was not to impressed & sat him on the bench for 15-20 min in the last qtr. After the game i spoke with a few of the players & they werent happy with what he did.... one E/park player said, whats the point after the siren to run 60m to king hit someone from behind.... He said that is gutless... true story & i wont say what number guernsey he is. Good bunch of blokes out there... number 2 is a quality player for them.
That is exactly what the club needs a (coach) who wont tolerate this sort of crap & trying to turn the club around... good on him. maybe fabian francis should take the same approach...
Smosh vs Athelstone (fighting for top spot)
Should be a great game as athelstone havnt had there full strength side in 3-4 weeks (they were rested against E/park & will have them all cherry right for this week. should be a blockbuster.
