The guy is a cancer and will destroy the spirit and morale that Rogers has worked so hard for.
2 posts that sum up Liverpool perfectly imo. Swapped Suarez for Balotelli. 95% of the answer right there. Gerrard being a year older and a year slower is the other 5%
We are Tottenham of last season. Always wondered if we wouldn't have been better served bringing in 2-3 top shelfers, rather than 6 or 7 potentially good young players. I rate our Gaffer, but it took him 2 years to get what we had to gel and by bringing in so many newbies, he has to run through that lengthy process all over again.
You mean Suarez happened? Losing a guy that scores 30+ a year is damaging, can't replace it
Yep. Spot on.
Still don't think that's all of the problem, granted I agree you can't replace top drawer talent easily, but we didn't even really try to, which is frustrating, TBH I've said for years my biggest concern is that we seem to have had no plan to replace Gerrard with someone dynamic in the middle. As good as Suarez was for us, SG has Carried us for 10 years.

The way i look at it is like this. Hypothetically Ballotelli ends up scoring 10 goals and Sturridge 10 goals for the year giving 20 from your strike force. Last year you had Suarez scoring 34 or whatever it was and sturridge scoring 21 goals. going from 54 goals to 20 goals can potentially equal a loss of 20-35 points from last year which going by atm is on par with liverpools postion atm. If you can't score you can't win.
Very true MH .. Our last decent efforts in the EPL had Torres and SG scoring about 20 each, which is probably more realistic, BUT, we had a much better defence than we did last season. At the moment I think LFC needs significant improvement in each third of the pitch.
Round of 16 PSG v Chelsea Man City v Barcelona Leverkusen v Atletico Madrid Juventus v Dortmund Schalke v Real Madrid Shakhtar v Bayern Munich Arsenal v Monaco Basel v Porto
glad i had work early as it sounds like i missed a poor effort
Dominated early, Giroud and Welbeck missed goals that a park footballer would put away. Very unusual by Giroud, was a sitter. After that you let them get back in it and Monaco had too much pace for your defenders. Thought when you got it back to 2-1 in injury time you would be ok but they hit you with sucker punch in the dying seconds. Will be hard to win the tie from here
