Re: Glenelg Senior Coach 2014/15
I guess what I was alluding too, is that given the season isn't too far away should Lokan be our Senior coach and we recruit someone to fill in his position??
Matty Wade is a star and deserves more respect from the forum family!

Lokan will not be senior coach of the Bays this year. Maybe on the interim but id suggest zero chance

Few points to be gained here. I think most decent people appreciate that, I also think some under appreciate the humanity of others.

North will pay the Bay's to take McGregor - that will help both clubs!
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

That's a fair and reasonable question, no doubt it's probably the worst possible time of year to look for a coach.
I'm sure Lokan will seriously consider applying for the role and will be considered with the other candidates. The timing makes it quite tricky to get this right, so I'm sure as the club progresses through the process all options will be considered.
If the club can wrap up the process in a short number of weeks then Lokan is perfectly capable of managing a couple of very senior roles during this period.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

A $3M contribution to wipe off debt will be considered.

Re: Glenelg Senior Coach 2014/15
The timeline is that complaint was made, and Police commenced investigating in 2013, "shortly before Stevens moved to Adelaide". He was interviewed by Police "after the complaint was made", reasonably likely before he moved to Adelaide. Stevens essentially admitted that he knew about the Police investigation at the time of taking up his job as coach of Glenelg: "He said his employer was not aware of the charges against him because he believed the case would not go any further."
Yeah, none of the club's business, because my career and my hope that it will all quietly go away, trumps their interest in not having a figurehead at the club who is subject to DV charges, and their interest in avoiding the disturbance to the team's and the players' development if I am convicted, when they have to sack me immediately. And all of this in the context where his defence to some of the charges, was that his ex-partner self-inflicted her injuries. No risk that Police were going to reject that theory and charge him, of course.
With that kind of attitude, he arguably should have been sacked even if all charges were dismissed.

Re: Glenelg Senior Coach 2014/15
Can not get my head around that the Glenelg Football Club are having a meeting tonight to make a decision on his future....
Just bizarre and weak IMO !
He's been charged and found guilty of DV numerous times ....but he has a chance to save his job ???
Surely he should be stood down immediately and make a point that DV will not be tolerated or accepted at the sanfl or the GFC!

Re: Glenelg Senior Coach 2014/15
How do you know they're not going to sack him immediately?
You have to make sure all your processes are in place before doing so.
I know it's popular to have a crack at clubs for the sake of it, but give them a chance to get the job done right.

Exactly, plus the need for key stakeholders to be advised by the club before reading it in a media release.

Perhaps there is more things to consider and the GFC wants to have a unified stance on how it will move forward. Tonight's meeting will determine a lot more than Nick Stevens future as Senior coach. There will be a great deal of follow on from whatever specific direction and action is taken.
I know its only your opinion but labelling the club bizare and weak shows how uninformed your opinion is.

Eh? Reading the court-related stories suggests he lied pretty heavily and hitting a woman is pretty vile. You're not defending him are you?
