Third time in 3 years? how can a curator **** that up once a year for 3 years running? Either work together and make sure it doesn't happen or start looking for another ground to play at.
Work together with the school? Heck why didnt we think about that before? Its the Gawler River campus (the B grade home ground) that we have had the issues at, The Waldeck where the A grade play has had no issues.. Its an on going issue that we are dealing with, but we are lucky to have such good facilities at 2 campuses that allow us to play cricket each weekend, so all we can do is make the school aware of it and move on. Unfortunately we dont have an abundance of spare grounds that we can utilise. We are working on a stronger working relationship with the school and we hope that an issue like this doesnt cost us in the future. Luckily for the B grade it shouldnt affect their season too much
Good to see you are being proactive. But hell I bet it is pissing off the players and opposition. Schools sometimes have no clue about shared community facilities just worry about themselves and we wonder why their students are the same....
It is a source of frustration, no doubt. Fulham wouldnt have enjoyed the fact that they drove out to Gawler for no play, but they drove away with a win against a previously unbeaten side with 200 on the board, and made it back to the club to watch their A grade pants our A grade over a few beers, so I dont feel overly bad for them if im honest..

Hearing that one of the players might have gotten 7 weeks??? No word on the other two yet.

Great outcome for Grange who are currently sitting 5th and would have pencilled this week in as a loss. Could now get lucky and sneak into the 4. Payneham and Para Hills very unlucky. 20 points is a big wack. Hard to come back and claim top spot from that. Then again, top 2 is all that really matters (IE: home semi) and they should still hold onto that.

Why wouldn't the teams just play?
B Grade? It's not a test match. Surely blokes just want to have a hit.
This is Tony Clifton! A name to respect! A name to fear!
Not sure the lads were that keen to spend a day in the field for no points on offer. I think fulham would've been happy to get the game handed to them on a platter.. In a game it happened last year I didnt notice until after tea on the second day but we had already lost that game on the first day so it wouldnt have mattered. Personally I dont think its a big deal if you play on different decks from week to week, the conditions change that much through the week its basically a fresh deck anyway.. The District Saturday/Sunday games would be the only time it mattered IMO. But those are the rules and we must cop the fall out
I know the bylaws say it's a forfeit, but I think that's something that could be changed. As HT indicated, it's basically a fresh deck the next week anyway, so there shouldn't really be any problem with it.
Only concern would be that the oval dimensions have changed by 3 or 6m, but unless you are playing on a tiny oval, out our level that sort of difference is immaterial.

I tend to agree with you there. The pitch can vary just as much in a week.
