Geez, I would seriously consider that trade..
Edit- In saying that, it would be dangerous given WADA's challenge against the Essendon verdict..
You would be crazy not to take a 1st rounder for him.

Splitting hairs, but it was 5 for Hartlett, was already locked in for next year.
Understand that but they have committed him for the next 6 by extending

I reckon Chad Cornes would be also.

That's the conundrum.
Part of me says take it and run- especially given the likely depreciation in market value if he was to spend a majority of 2016 in the SANFL. The other half says keep him for insurance in case Ryder gets reamed by WADA.
Could be a moot argument anyway as PAFC GM of footy, Chris Davies, has come out saying they are not entertaining the thought of trading him. Lobbe's manager, Michael Dowedy, also confirmed that he is not seeking a trade elsewhere.

Re: Port Adelaide 2015
Port are going to be very top heavy with talls if they keep him, presuming they get Dixon, just resigned Shultz and Butcher.
A 1st rounder for Lobbe would assist the picks they have given away for Ryder and presumably Dixon.

Was always going to happen once Shaw and Harvey were delisted for not making the cut. How does it make them feel about themselves?
He'd be on very low coin, very low I would think. Still 6 figures, but very low in football terms.

They have a lot of tall forward/utility types but only lobbe and Ryder as genuine ruck options

I've got a lot of time for a kid called Billy Frampton who is at SANFL level. He's 200cm and 90kg's. He's got some real old school mongrel about him, but having said that, he's a long way off being capable back up at AFL level.
I'd be surprised if we let Lobbe go and I think with no sub next year more and more sides will play two ruckman, especially if one, like Ryder, is a capable forward.

The problem is, does Dixon Schulz westhoff and Ryder all fit into the one forward line?

Westhoff doesnt need to play forward. The other three do (when not rucking for Ryder). Also with no sub, one of these would be on the bench always

Re: Port Adelaide 2015
Yes and no.
I can see Dixon playing deep with Schulz up the ground, I think you'll find Westhoff might play high half forward / wing. Might even run in the midfield rotations at 6' 10".
Ryder will lead the ruck, get chop out from Lobbe ( if we play two ) or Westhoff / Dixon and go forward.
Schulz is good at ground level with tackling and pressure so he's not a typical tall forward and he's more lead up instead of pack mark so playing "up" a little might suit him.
Pittard Carlile Hombsch
Hartlett Trengove Broadbent
Polec Boak Ebert
Monfries Schulz S.Gray
Wingard Dixon Westhoff
Ryder Wines R.Gray
Int Lobbe Jonas Ah Chee - White/Neade/Amon/Impey

Correct, Ryder, Westhoff, Schulz, Lobbe, Dixon.
One rucking, one resting, 2 playing forward one up the ground.

I think its a liability to 100% always have a ruck on the bench, and even without the sub rule I dont see many clubs doing this if they dont already. The crows for instance arent going to bring in a ruck.
Every second ruck has to have a spot forward these days imo.
Westhoff is your link man, so thats fine.
Schulz can go up the ground, but that still leaves Dixon and the resting ruck down forward, and that is where it is too top heavy.
Given you have Dixon, Westhoff and Trengove that can all pinch hit in the ruck if required, port are probably the least likely to play two rucks next year imo. Reckon only one of Ryder and Lobbe gets a gig - or maybe even Schulz gets dropped
