Credit to Sturt for trying to make things work. Obviously said , well no Crows fans rock up at Unley so why not try and make some money by exploring a collaborative agreement. Hats off to clubs that actually THINK .
Any club which could THINK would have voted NO to this shemozzle in the first place.
Certainly agree with that. But I also think Sturt have been quite smart here . Who knows , it might get more Crows supporters there .( wouldn't be hard). Conceptually a very good idea.

Dutchy , ask your Sturt connection. It is hardly a cash grab. It reads like a very smart Sturt board looking for opportunities.
I am not in favour of the AFL teams but if it means clubs can somehow benefit from it due to the broken promises then why wouldn't they ?
What does a NAB cup have to do with it anyway ?

Next year the Crows reserves will play 9 'home' games.
The year after they'll keep all the takings

If that is true and I nor do you know its true , then why not ? Is it not smart to think about the big picture. Like I keep saying , I am against the AFL teams in but if our clubs are smart enough to make more money out of it then why not. Hardly a home ground advantage for them. Can''t believe the short sight of some.

But if it was done to secure the NAB cup game at Unley then it stinks

Centrals haven't given up a home game against the Crows - and they secured a NAB cup game at Elizabeth so not sure that theory holds too much water.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Noticed that South have the following:
Round 9- Power
State Game
Round 10- North
Round 11- Bye
Round 12- Power
So South play the Power twice in three matches. Hopefully they have a few injuries during this stretch.....

They have a ground that has a fence, no cricket pitch, ample car parking and no summer tenant. Some obvious challenges that faced the Unley Oval game.

Re: Full 2016 SANFL Draw
Geez your getting desperate now bringing car parking into it. You saying it's in some way rigged or some under handed deal going on Dutchy ? I thought you gave up SANFL footy . Hearing Elvis is alive too .
Seems to me it was Sturt that was proactive on this .

At the centrals AGM on monday Kris Grant said that the sanfl reserves would have about 6 byes. Just ridiculous!!!!!

Reserves only play 18 games each in 2016 as opposed to 20. There's four byes plus the state game bye.
Port plays Centrals twice in the reserves before they play five other sides.

Some of the players may take short overseas trips to kill time or ,
get cleared back and forth to the their suburban clubs to keep up match fitness!

Don't think they will...
The clubs will have them training over the bye weekends...
Some interstate recruits may get a chance to go home for a long weekend, perhaps....

Re: Full 2016 SANFL Draw
You are correct.
Probably clubs could run a couple of internal or external trial matches to keep them up to speed.
But wouldn't we all like to see our clubs just playing real footy matches week in week out like the old days.
Just a dream I guess!
