A bounce down on the edge of the goal square has potential, but not inevitable, penalty, that fits the "crime" better.

**** me just leave it alone, you already get a point when they rush it through, how bout teams have better delivery when going inside 50 so they hit a target instead of the ball getting rushed through

Agree but there's been a lot of speculation about it this year.
FWIW i didn't like the stricter out of bounds this year.

They just got too many decisions wrong on that rule for me to think it was ok.

Agreed, the one in the Richmond vs Collingwood game early in the season was dreadful and costly.

I would like to see a change to the rule of shepherding the man on the mark, if you come in from anywhere but behind it should be free kick against you not a reset of the play as it currently is.

Yep, so how they trust the umpires with a rule that will virtually gift a goal (even if it is policed differently to the out-f-bounds one)

If the player with the ball gets this stupid 10mt exclusion zone, then it is reasonable for the player on the mark to be able five metres clear from a shepherder.

LOL. Get rid of that altogether. Has there ever been a greater knee jerk change in rules over one injury?

Go lower/harder...

PS Hannebery did get absolutely rogered in the GF.

Disagree. Think it's a very responsible and fair rule. But I don't think it should be carte blanche that if there is any collision it's a free to the player standing. I've seen instances where the player has gone in with the legs and won a free. To me it's fairly simple. If you go past the ball, including taking the ball and continuing on, and make contact below the knees with an opponent it's a free. If you stop at the ball or before then no issue. The dangerous one is where a bloke is standing there and gets his legs taken out. If the contact is all his own momentum then it's far less dangerous.

Bring in the out of bounds rule like sanfl. End of story. The muppets pay it anyway so just make it open shut case.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Unfortunately it wasn't cut and dry in the SANFL this year and there were still many grey areas, also did the player shepherd it across the line, soccer kicks sometimes getting paid sometimes not, kicks that would get slightly smothered still getting paid etc

HOW is this for a casual afternoon punt on the footy?
One plucky punter has put on what could be the most ambitious bet in recent history, placing $20,000 on the Fremantle Dockers to take home the premiership in 2017.
If the Dockers pull through, he will win a whopping $1,020,000.
There’s only one problem — they’ve never won a premiership.
Despite making it to numerous finals series, taking the minor premiership and claiming a Brownlow Medal through Nat Fyfe in 2015, the boys from Fremantle have never raised the cup — but the TAB says there’s a lot to like about them in the coming year with their premiership-winning odds slashed from $51 into $26.
“It was only 13 months ago that the Dockers were on top of the ladder, and with the inclusion of Brad Hill and Cam McCarthy, alongside a fit Nat Fyfe, Aaron Sandilands, Harley Bennell and Michael Johnson, there is value still there for punters who think they can make a charge up the ladder,” TAB spokesman Nick Quinn said.
Brad Hill’s inclusion came just this morning after a busy trade period for the club which has them working on signing recent premiership-winner Joel Hamling (Bulldogs) and Shane Kersten (Geelong).
“At 23-years of age, Bradley is an experienced premiership player with elite running and skill level,” list manager Brad Lloyd said.
“We believe he will be a valuable acquisition to our playing list and be a long-term player for Fremantle.

“Bradley is really excited about returning home to WA and will relish the opportunity to play with (brother) Stephen.”
The monstrous bet placed on the Dockers this season is comparable to the huge bet placed on the 2014 World Cup Final which saw a drunk fan from the Netherlands land €1.3 million (A$1.9 million) after predicting Germany’s massive 7-0 victory over Brazil.
One can only hope this determined Aussie can pull through and replicate the Dutchman’s amazing prediction.
If one thing is for certain, this gambler will be hiding from his wife all year.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

It encourages you to keep your feet which is taught to every footballer at a young age. Keep the rule it's a good one.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?
