Re: 2017 AFL Season
Pretty happy with that draw. Plenty of Saturday night games. Had already booked flights to a few but now I can sit down today and book a heap more

Re: 2017 AFL Season
Haven't looked through the draw in much detail, but noticed St Kilda are again drawn to play here twice. Good for me, but 8 visits in 4 years doesn't seem right. Have played Adelaide once in Melb during that time, and Port not at all.

Re: 2017 AFL Season
WCE have a 5 day turnaround after playing Richmond at MCG they host Sydney at Domain...that's gonna be a tough ask. Might of been nice of the AFL to schedule a bottom 8 opponent for the return leg.

We get one Thursday night, one Friday night, 3 twilight Saturday and 2 Saturday night games at AO.
There's about $1000 gone.
Love the twilight Saturday games, 4:05 Saturday, perfect I reckon.

Crazy huh. We get Carlton and Your dogs round 22 and 23. Yep the only time we play both sides. The lack of common sense is astounding!

Re: 2017 AFL Season
ADELAIDE
Good news: Five Friday night games put the Crows in the spotlight.
Bad news: Seven six-day breaks aren’t ideal.
BRISBANE LIONS
Good news: After a brutal start to last season, the Lions have at least three potentially winnable games in the first month.
Bad news: No Friday night action for the lowly Lions, but that’s hardly a surprise.
CARLTON
Good news: 10 matches at the MCG and an increase in Saturday afternoon and night games. First five weeks look favourable.
Bad news: No home game against Collingwood for the first time will cost the Blues a pretty penny.
COLLINGWOOD
Good news: The Pies don’t have to wait long to see Travis Cloke as they host the Dogs in R1.
Bad news: This is a seriously tough fixture. Two trips to Sydney in the first seven weeks is brutal.
ESSENDON
Good news: Pretty much everything. Adelaide the only top six side it plays twice.
Bad news: The Bombers travel six times during the season, including three times in the first seven rounds.
FREMANTLE
Good news: Five home games in opening seven rounds provides opportunity for a fast start.
Bad news: The Dockers are one of four sides not to feature on Friday Night.
GEELONG
Good news: Opening the new Brownlow Stand at Simonds Stadium against the Dogs in R9.
Bad news: Eight six-day breaks, which is the equal most of any club. Only seven games in Geelong.
GOLD COAST
Good news: Hosts all the powerhouse Victorian clubs in one season for the first time. A league-low two six-day breaks.
Bad news: Tough first eight rounds before the bye with only R1 v the Lions looking like a likely win.
GWS GIANTS
Good news: Managed to sneak in a home game at Spotless before it becomes unavailable for the Easter Show.
Bad news: The teams the Giants play twice are rough — Bulldogs, Swans, Cats, Eagles and Tigers.
HAWTHORN
Good news: Only games outside Melbourne in first nine weeks are against Gold Coast, St Kilda and Brisbane.
Bad news: Wanted all home games at the MCG but will play the Bulldogs at Etihad in R23 in a fixture that will limit crowd numbers.
MELBOURNE
Good news: Doesn’t leave Melbourne until R8. No home matches at Etihad Stadium.
Bad news: Plays the Dogs, Eagles (away), Swans and Crows in a brutal five-week stretch from R13-17.
NORTH MELBOURNE
Good news: Join the Dogs on Good Friday. Only finalist to only face one fellow top eight side (Bulldogs) twice.
Bad news: What a start. Eagles, Cats, Giants, Dogs and Dockers away. North won’t be starting 9-0 this season.
PORT ADELAIDE
Good news: Got the tick on its two major requests: A game in China and a home game in ANZAC Round.
Bad news: Tough first month, particularly if the Dockers improve.
RICHMOND
Good news: Of the five teams it plays twice, three (Blues, Dockers, Lions) were in the bottom six.
Bad news: No Friday night footy for a club like Richmond ain’t a good look.
ST KILDA
Good news: Four Friday night games is a huge win for the Saints.
Bad news: Seriously tough stretch between R5-12 when the Saints play the Cats, Hawks, Giants, Swans, Dogs and Crows.
SYDNEY SWANS
Good news: Only team that plays on Friday night eight times.
Bad news: Double up games against the Dogs, Giants, Hawks and improving Saints.
WEST COAST
Good news: Blockbuster home games on Thursday night (R4 v Swans, R13 v Cats) and Friday night (R8 v Dogs).
Bad news: A crazy, five-day turnaround between R3 (Richmond at MCG) and R4 (Sydney at Domain)
WESTERN BULLDOGS
Good news: Seven Friday night games is the most of any club bar Sydney.
Bad news: Lots of travel for the Dogs including two trips to Perth in the first eight weeks.
Good news: Five Friday night games put the Crows in the spotlight.
Bad news: Seven six-day breaks aren’t ideal.

Yeah also travel to Perth twice, Sydney once and down to Tassie once. Happy with the 4 friday night games though.

We always play 6 interstate games a year, pretty sure that's the max we can play with the ground arrangements we have

I would say the "bad news" is 6 x 6 day breaks and 1 x 5 day break.

Hardly "bad news" in a national competition, either.
