That woud be an absolute joke! There is not a blade of grass on the oval, and with the rain predicted the oval will not be safe. Be like the GG game and soccer score of 4 goals each!
Why does someone who states they're from Henley care about the state of Flinders Park oval?

Henley is more reference to Cricket at that oval, nothing to do with footy.
ANYWAY, just don't think finals should be held on disgraceful surfaces. Good luck to the players who have to run thru that.
Think Flinders Park have to bite the bullet and do what PHOS are doing next year and give the oval a year off, and fix the problem properly. Their season was de-railed last year due to the same reason, looks like it has happened again this year. Be stuck in Div 3 forever if this continues!
Down the Hill wrote:So what are PHOS Camden doing next year. Where are they playing?
DTH not completely sure as yet as we don't have the full timeline and scope on the work on the oval. They want to start October so subject to the work we might get to play at home we might not. There may be some other factors at play as well.

Are they now being known as William Light OS Camden and playing at William Light or are they joining the SFL DTH?
I was referring to venue and clubrooms LK based on what Eagles2014 indicated i.e. the ground is getting a major overhaul and may not be available for use in 2018.
Bandar - I assume this means no cricket use by Glenelg in the 2017/18 season either. One would hope for your sake that if work commences as early as October with no use during summer then things would be ready for matches come April 2018. I'm curious about the "other factors" at play. Any suggestion of a permanent re-location, not that I could think of where that could be.

There's an article in the local Messenger outlining the entire works. Entire overhaul of the area.

No not a permanent relocation but without getting ahead of ourselves we are hoping it will soon be a place that even opposition sides might enjoy (within reason ).
Thanks for that. Fairly hot off the press. And let me guess that the issues with Council and the club would have been the Council thinking that one clubroom could service both soccer and football without any idea about the independence that these clubs need to operate not to mention how the $$$ get channelled.

That conversation was had but that was over ten years ago. There were other issues that thankfully were all sorted.
Hi Guys, Just back form the mine and getting my Footy fix, Mitcham and SMOSH going back to Div 4, any thoughts on how they will go next year ? I am surprised that both clubs are moving back to Div 4, what went wrong ???? Apart from not winning any games ?
Drove past Park's oval this morning, they obviously didn't train on it last night, doesn't look too bad on the surface although we didn't get anywhere near the rain expected.

Mitcham lost a few key players and played kids all year. good future IF they stick around.

Another wasted year at Flinders Park, bundled out in first week of finals. Tough questions need to be asked.
I don't think it is a coincidence that their season de-railed like last year when their oval become a bog. Not being able to train like normal is disruptive.
Two years in a row have been certain Grand Finalists, only to have it end like this. Very disappointing!

Probably had more to do with them being a one man band.
