It is a concern for mine. He'll play most of the year unless he does something bad but he just isn't damaging with his disposals. yeah he wins a lot of clearances but he never actually does a lot with them.
I am hoping that he is just going to be an extractor, in the Matt Crouch type role, to allow Gray, Wingard, Motlop and Polec more time on the outside.
Looking at Rockliff in isolation and its a sketchy call. Look at how he would fit in into the team and what it means for others (Motlop too), and it does kind of make a bit more sense.
You have to take into consideration that efficiency also depends on the receiver being able to win the ball, bit hard kicking to witches hats.

I think most guesses are pretty accurate withing $50-$100k, not hard when you know the average and the cap.
No, its not. When you factor in where the loading is, performance bonuses, triggers, out of market deals etc
These are multi million dollar multi year contracts a lot of the time which would be incredibly complicated, not a 12 month deal to do some admin with Maxima.
You might be surprised how simple some of the top end contracts are, they are not paid per game etc, they are pretty much an employee of the club with a few bonuses on top for B&F performance etc.

Out goes : *estimated* ( average AFL wage is $302k this year )
6 out, 3 in and no real $$ better off unless current top enders are going into the back end of front loaded deals....
We'll show you, North Melbourne.
@Dutchy
Minus Watts out of the discussion, easy.
Pretty generous with those figures I reckon, plus you are 3 players short, are they getting paid nothing? Are Wines, Wingard not getting increases in 2018 and beyond?
Generous with which figures? The average wage is $302k in '17, all of the above mentioned would be there or thereabouts.
We'll take 3 kids late in the draft ( 2x2nd rounders).
Whether he is or isn’t they still need to pay him coz he’s contracted.
I'm hearing Brisbane have expressed interest.
Why would Brisbane want him when they have Stef Martin and Archie Smith? They also have a hound developing kid (cannot think of his name) coming on nicely.

Sure, but without knowing what those bonuses are, or what the metrics are for measuring them or even what other players are on, you're playing guess work and stabbing in the dark.
It's like the absolute flog of a man Barrett pushing the "Port have to be close to Salary cap" agenda for months on end. Nek minnit we sign Dixon on "huge" coin.

One can't keep them, one can't get them, no wonder there's confusion.
If we can’t have an adult conversation about Port without bringing into it the posters’ team they follow blah blah blah
Of course you can but if you're overly negative despite logic pointing the other direction, then maybe some emotional needs are overtaking the reason parts of the brain.

He generally only plays well when the team’s going well, this isn’t just me that thinks this - most teams have these players, don’t take offence. Me? Emotional needs? I’m as unstable as the next poster on here I’ll have you know.
