Yeah, I'm sure the Port and Brisbane brains trust are reading this forum diligently looking for an intelligent solution.

Probably evens out because I think Lobbe only has 1 year left to run on his Port contract, whereas they'll pay Rocky for multiple years

I wonder what happens with compo if its a front loaded contract? Is it the average or the year of the trade? Some clever stuff going on though from both clubs, I like it.

It's the total of contract.
Front loading makes no difference for compo

Yep Port can collectively pay $1.5m to a bloke over 3 years who never played a game in that time.

If Lobbe has 2x500 left and they are going to pay Rocky 750-800x4 they are better off paying $1m x4 for Rocky which gets Brisbane band 1 compo and Port get Lobbe off the books

Correct. It's very clever.

They’re still trying to understand the logic behind Morrell’s SWARM analysis/graphs.

You mean that measurement that correctly predicted the AA ruckman? Despite every other man and his dog protesting? #swarm

Well, no, we could tell by watching him play that he was going to be one of the two or three in discussion and was rightly favored by many to be the AA ruckman. SWARM just kept you warm at night.
