Im currently watching the World Series at my desk.

I just had to apologise to the office for an outburst....

I've also made a deal with The Big Bang that if the Dodgers win the World Series, both of our next sons will be named Yasiel. If the Astros win, they will both be named Yulieski. [emoji38]

I don't get why they call it the "World Series", I suppose it's a typical "my dick's bigger than yours" Yank thing.

It was originally named after sponsor......possibly a newspaper?

The series was promoted and referred to as "The Championship of the United States", "World's Championship Series", or "World's Series" for short. In his book Krakatoa: The Day the World Exploded: August 27, 1883, Simon Winchester mentions in passing that the World Series was named for the New York World newspaper,but this view is disputed.
