Very sad to hear of the death of Cyrille Regis.
I remember Regis from my childhood and admired him as a striker of great pace, skill and power and was thrilled when he played briefly for my team, Aston Villa in the early 1990's.
His era would have been a very challenging one for a black footballer.

Very sad.
Good gutsy player who had to take more racist shit than most could imagine in times. People throwing bananas on the pitchand spitting at him. He was a pioneer for black players in football and went on to play for England.
A baggies hero who was only 59
