I didn’t expect to win but after taking it right up to Port last week I’d thought we might have been in the game a bit longer than we were.

they supposedly have 100k members and not even 50k rock up (assuming some crows fans) to a huge Friday night game when their team is 2 games clear on top

the crows would get absolutely pilloried if they didn't get 45k + to a similar fixture, so 54 being the highest crowd ever is pretty ridiculous

With up to 17 or 18 games a year in Melbourne the supporters are spoilt for choice and tend to pick and choose what games they go to

I’d give an arm and a leg to see North Melbourne play 17-18 times a year. Some supporters/members don’t know how lucky they are.
I’m going in 2 weeks V Collingwood at the G then taking the family to Tassie the following week V West Coast, I’ve been crossing the days off my calendar for months. Plus I’ll see us when we come here V Adelaide in R22.

People in Melbourne have lives aswell. Plenty of games clash with Auskick, local footy etc so people can be more selective as to which games they attend. As Benny said with only 11 at home it’s easier to plan around it

FWIW..... The Northern Footy League here in Melbourne there is a few games every Fri night of the winter. Usually juniors and or women’s. Saturday’s are for senior men’s footy only. U/19, reserves and seniors. Sunday’s are juniors from U/8 through to U/17 boys and girls plus all senior women’s games. Seriously there are so many teams and so many games on, it’s ridiculous. And that’s just NFL, let alone all the other leagues. Not sure when clubs do Auskick. Another factor over here are the trains. Lots of changes to timetables with level crossing removals throughout Melbourne.
