Letter from a debt collection company today over a 2018 Centrelink overpayment.

Not disputing the payment but got no prior notification and when asked why told that all debts were placed on hold because of COVID

They didn't like the fact when i pointed out that COVID didnt exist back in 2018 and was March 2020 when it arrived here

Typical Govt departments

They should have a biomechanist on the AFL MRP so that cases like this don't even get that far. That's where the AFL have got it all wrong. Have someone on their side that determines that the guy had no reasonable chance of avoiding it, explain it to the punters and move on.

Waiting till later in the week to find out the same info is nuts in my mind.

After moving into a rental a couple of weeks ago I thought I'd get ahead on my payments as I get paid monthly.

Initially I had to pay 6 weeks rent in advance as bond and an additional 2 weeks rent on top of that, all good.

I got caught out on Friday and had forgotten to pay my next lot, I remembered while I was out and paid one week's on my phone using the banking details provided.

I then paid an additional two weeks yesterday.

They finally replied to an email I had sent previously, but mainly focused on the fact that they have not received any payments, apparently there's a completely different bank that the rent goes into.

BOM can they ever get it right

Cancelled an outdoor job in the hills today because of all these forecast strong winds and 15-20mm of rain

Been very little of either, how can they continually get it so wrong

Forecast was for 15-25mm

West Terrace has had 0.4mm since 9am.

Something must've gone amiss, a lady in the hills had a tree dissect her house yesterday as she was eating an omelet, very lucky to be alive, but I get what you are saying.

Last night I was on the northern expressway and conditions were crazy, my wipers were flat out and barely doing their job, I get off the expressway on to Bolivar Road then on to Kings Road and the roads were as dry as a nuns knickers.
