When I read about this yesterday I read that batter is actually the historical term in cricket, not batsman so really it's just a return to an original term.
Anyway I'm more concerned about keeping the game alive at all levels rather than a change in terminology.

As a straight bloke I’ve always been offended by the term “byes” & “leg byes” in cricket. This needs to be changed.
And as not to offend the ladies we’re going to have to find a new name for some of the equipment… the box, pads, helmet.
Don’t even get me started on the “popping crease”…

Walking to cricket training last night, saw this in the distance at the bus stop - happy family, girl flying a kite, thought promo for the new housing developments around the area.. then as I got closer I saw the the writing.. :shock: :lol:
