I understand that GC were tossing up between Tsitas and Freeman. I also read somewhere that Freeman got injured in a recent trial match. Not sure how serious but with his injury history they perhaps didn't want to risk him if he was ever there preferred choice.

Congratulations Tsitas. Quite an amazing story when you think about the circumstances that led to this. Had Covid never occurred then Tsitas may never have left the VFL to come across to SA. He would never have had the opportunity to put his name forward in two premiership winning teams nor won a Magarey. Because he took a punt it has led to this great opportunity.

If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

While disappointing to WWT, overall this "sells" the SANFL to other hopefuls as the best 2nd tier comp and should mean that while we lose a couple every year, we then pick up 15-20 from across the border hoping to do the same which can only help the comp IMO.

There you go .. Tsitas only needs to put on 10kgs and he’ll be ahead of the game! I was trying to think of other similar built players in the AFL but couldn’t really recall any..maybe Brad Crouch? Or is he a bit taller? Anyway, be interesting to see how he goes. Good luck to him..

Tsitas is listed as 181cm and 84kg on Gold Coast website.
Neale 178cm and 84kg.
Rory Laird, who I think Tsitas looks and plays a bit like, 178cm and 78kg.

Not a big name but promising Sam Breuer (NAB league, Victoria country rep), originally set to join Crows as a SANFL listed player, has opted to join Sturt

Breuer not on the AFC SANFL playing list sent out to the media today by their SANFL Footy Manager Jarrod Meers.

Apparently Channel 7 last night said Nathan Freeman would be joining the Crows SANFL team. Anyone else hearing this?

Interesting that someone of his calibre is still on the market this close to the start of the season. Obviously the thought of playing in their system might get him onto their main list, but would have thought WWTFC would have a bit of money to throw at this with Tsitas and Hayes gone.

(And also more likely to make an AFL list playing for WWTFC than Crows it seems.)

Melbourne media report as of yesterday has the same link to the Crows.

His former club Frankston seems resigned to losing him.

Excited to read on another thread Blake Launer is having a run with Centrals. Will add some grunt and razzle dazzle to the forward line

Yes, Ex-Crow Blake Launer will be playing at Elizabeth this season,
apparently he's a bit of a niggler, similar to the sort of stuff the Twins used to be famous for.
we need someone with a bit of aggro, hopefully he'll get support from bigger teammates lol.

He will be joined by Jamie Jones from Nightcliff, as soon as Nightcliff's season in Darwin has finished.
This lad seems pretty handy, picked up 3 BOGs this season, from the backlines.

Some very good comments re Jamie on the AFLNT website upon his selection for the Allies last year:

Jamie Jones:
Jones is part of the SEDA school program in Darwin. He is known to be a very versatile player and proved he is a key player at either end of the ground while playing for the Territory in an Under 16 national carnival in Queensland last year. His attention to detail, professional approach, drive and hunger to get the best out of himself in order to better his game is second to none.

Love the last sentence in particular.
A Bulldog in winter; a WTDCC Eagle and OICC Wolf in Summer!

A Dustin Launer played for the Eagles U18 premiership team last year. Played a few reserves games. Was a very good player for the Eagles U18's, was very surprised he didn't make the senior list at the Eagles.
