They start doing the beer lines at 4pm this afternoon. Sixty minutes before happy hour starts, you can’t get a West End, Hahn Super Dry or a Coopers Pale Ale off the tap. Not to mention Coopers Pale Ale is beer of the month so it’s advertised all over the pub as being on special the whole time. Only you can’t get one from 4pm this arvo until tomorrow lunch time. They employ mindless wankers who have no people skills & can’t pour a beer & then management have that audacity to grill staff about beer wastage when they don’t train anyone how to correctly pour a beer & still refuse to bank kegs.
If this pub was two miles inland it would’ve gone broke years ago.

That's crazy, we do them on a Sunday night/Monday morning.

Not a lot of good publicans around any more or at least up here on Yorkes, all managers or workers. The Kadina hotel just sold to a big group and they also bought the Sunny Side in Broughton and all 3 pubs in Moonta and a pub in Minlaton and think Maitland. The kadina had a fantastic publican and they sponsored lots of local sporting clubs, hope this big set up continues to do the same for the community.

They bought both the pubs in Broughton, so much for competition.

The biggest pub in Clare just got bought by a big conglomerate. Will be interesting to see how that goes.

Rather ironic that the previous owner bought it because his wife said she didn't want a large hotel group to buy it [emoji849]

More Seacliff Hotel gold…
Beer of the month is Great Northern mid strength at $5 a pint. Selling like hot cakes. Were apparently running low on Friday so go & borrow one keg from another ALH pub. You guessed it, come Sunday no Great Northern, oh & no Carlton Draught either (only the most popular full strength in the joint)
Have managed to get some more from other pubs then at 5:50 tonight as happy is almost done, no more Carlton Draught boys, we’re doing the beer lines.
At six o f#cking clock??? Seriously can’t make this shit up.

La best Italiano, Greek on Halifax the best of it's genre.

A couple of years ago an older Italian fella came in the Reepham one random evening and asked who I liked in the next at GDP, I said I like the 7 with Hyrorec on it, it got up and he gave me $200 and also put $50 over the bar for me to keep drinking with. He was the owner of La Trattoria, he wouldn't take no for an answer.

He gave the barmaid a $100 too.

"Speccy" fell to pieces when we found the Casino has $4 pale, Carlton Draught and base spirits ( Scotch, Vodka, Gin, Bourbon ) from 4 'til 5. $5 from 5 'til 6. $6 from 6 'til 7. So it ended up very messy at Prancing Pony for Kangee(?) Korean chicken, wings, chips, more beers.

Baddog bar, cool little blues and roots spot if you like that scene, great night in there.

I heard about the casino happy hours but got told they were finishing up at the end of April.

Had to try and whack some food in the stomach to soak up a massive night so we went to the Pretoria Hotel in Mannum yesterday.

I don't usually order a schnitty but everyone else was and I really just wanted to eat so there was no point in getting my customary steak.

All 6 of us were served within 10 minutes, all at the same time and the chicken schnitty with pepper sauce was high quality, I'm not a chip person but their chips got cleaned up in no time aswell, it helped that they weren't scabby with the gravy.

To top it off, lucky I have two eyes as they had the Bathurst race going on one big screen and the footy on the other one, both directly ahead from where I was sitting.

Most of the group stayed up there last night, I had the miserable drive home cursing myself.
