Thought it might have been next Sunday, Nov 27, think that is free also. A request has gone around to players asking them to please not approach umpires during breaks to show them vision from FrogBox

Re: Grade Cricket
Looks like MyCricket doesn’t have live scores today, but playhq now does. So I guess playhq is the place to go now? Now all they need is to set up the frogbox for each ground, have scores on it, and for this rain to piss off and it will be like we’re in the advanced future we were in during last year again!
Early score:
Kens 3/9 vs ND!
Pros 4/28 vs Uni
Port 0/58 vs TTG
Yet to get away in other games, but I presume they all will?
Edit: all games underway. ET, Wood and SD all lost the toss and sent in to bat.

Re: Grade Cricket
Heard a bit of blow up between the Weagles and Peckers yesterday amongst coaches, players and the Weagles team manager/scorer.
It seems that some coaches may have ladder positions/trophies built into the contracts and the emotion can run high when under pressure. Who would of thought 24 balls could cause so much trouble!
I believe the Weagles coach invited one of the Woodville players to C U in the NT.
Looking forward to round 7 when they meet next, especially after some vision of a coaches runup was shown between both parties.

Re the one day cup. There’s 5 undefeated teams. Schedule one Sunday to play 4th (Port) vs 5th (ND) to see who takes 4th place and play finals from there. Scrap the rest of the games. Stop wasting time trying to reschedule.

Re: Grade Cricket
looking at the ladder the top 4 are based on Q? as NRR isn't affecting the positions, can someone explain Q which I assume is what you made divided by what they made? how is this a fair system after 2 games let alone 1?Eagles2014 wrote:You may be on to something hereAerie wrote:Re the one day cup. Imagine Northerns be the only ones not happy about this as they be the only team that could change that if they beat Adelaide.
Seems like the one dayers where an inconvenience to the SACA from the start

West Torrens put a proposal at start of year to not play the One Day Cup this year, due to all games being 2 day games etc. Was apparently a close vote, but got voted down in the end. Think they now wish they had not have bothered.
Northerns only played one game, as have few other teams but they have all had a loss so can live with missing out. Just another debacle to add to the list!

Re: Grade Cricket
Q, or quotient, is the ratio of your batting average and your bowling average.Arry Gablett wrote:looking at the ladder the top 4 are based on Q? as NRR isn't affecting the positions, can someone explain Q which I assume is what you made divided by what they made? how is this a fair system after 2 games let alone 1?
Obviously if both teams are all out, the wickets component effectively cancels out and then it would be what you made divided by what you conceded.
It was the common was of doing things in the past, before NRR became more popular in limited overs games.
The biggest drawback of the quotient method is that if you bat first, you often throw away a few wickets in the last couple of overs going for that extra run or two, but when chasing you bat to the total you are chasing so don't throw away those late wickets as much (especially when you have the chase in control). As such, it can be an advantage to bat second when the quotient method is deployed.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Re: Grade Cricket
Why wouldn't they play 4 rounds?
That way there's four bye teams and they can play each other at some point
Three rounds including a bye is ridiculous

Re: Grade Cricket
Games are still likely to be rescheduled unless PCC votes against it. The info on finals was premature. Lots of concern about the volume of Sunday cricket and the impact on volunteers, coaches and players - going without a 1-day comp this season (only) might have been a better choice.Eagles2014 wrote:Agree with that, they dont care about them.Arry Gablett wrote:looking at the ladder the top 4 are based on Q? as NRR isn't affecting the positions, can someone explain Q which I assume is what you made divided by what they made? how is this a fair system after 2 games let alone 1?Eagles2014 wrote:You may be on to something hereAerie wrote:Re the one day cup.
