It comes down to age and size.

Females don't become fertile until 5-6 years of age and around 55-58cm. So females under 60cm should not be taken.

Males mature around 2-3 years of age and around 23-28cm. So only males over ( I'd say ) 40cm should be taken.

Up until they both reach that size they are part of the breeding stock.

Bag limit 1 per boat per day. Males 40cm+ and females 60cm+.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Didnt you say not to take breeding stock?
Up until they are fertile, they are juveniles?

I'm going fishing on Friday.

I fully expect to land 2 cooked Crayfish, and a tray of oysters.

Preston Market. Can't miss.

Once they go past a certain size and age they aren't breeding as effectively. Females I probably should have gone 70cm+ and males 50cm+, by then they wouldn't be breeding ( as successfully ).
