Re: Ashes 2023
I do wish this was on Fox as well.
Aus going ok. No gremlins in the pitch. Small amount of movement but I think the Duke ball moves more after 8-10 overs.

Re: Ashes 2023
I went to bed at 1/71 and woke up to us finished at 3/107.
With Warner, Marnus and Smith all back in the shed.
Comes down to Usman again, hopping he can take us home.

fingers crossed but have a feeling we will fall short here
Losing Smith before stumps was a major blow

Head, Green, Carey have the ability to get us across the line but cant help but feel we might see a redback style capitulation once Khawaja goes.

Yeah all 3 score fast naturally so it’s up to them now to get these runs, weather permitting.whufc wrote:Yeah agree.locky801 wrote:fingers crossed but have a feeling we will fall short here

Re: Ashes 2023
How do we get Kevin Pietersen off of the coverage?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

Ponting schooling Pietersen when he was dropping fellatio on Root's innings.
"This lot didn't know what to do, Root was owning the game"
"Well he's out now, he got 40"

Re: Ashes 2023
Very evenly poised heading into the final day. I can't readily recall a test match that was so even throughout. Neither team has managed to pull more than a whisker ahead from my perspective, at any time. Agree with the commentary that England have started the sessions better, but the Australians have managed to come back on each occasion. I feel Pat Cummins has let things drift every now and then. A much stronger bowling performance though from him yesterday. Gaz has been very handy.
Hopefully the sky stays clear tonight for at least forty overs or so.

It's almost as though bash and crash isn't sustainable.RB wrote:Very evenly poised heading into the final day. I can't readily recall a test match that was so even throughout. Re: Ashes 2023
Agree there is question marks about the sustainability. In saying that the early crash and bash set Roots innings up perfectly and he should have capitalized. If the English can master the art of the changing the gears between bazball and traditional batting in the one innings, they will become extremely hard to beat.Booney wrote:It's almost as though bash and crash isn't sustainable.RB wrote:Very evenly poised heading into the final day. Re: Ashes 2023
Height of summer in Adelaide the sun sets about 20:45, sunset is scheduled for 21:45 in Birmingham tonight.Dutchy wrote:Cricket times are so stupid, surely you start at least half hour early this morning and play an extra hour tonight, its light until 9.30pm over there atm!
Being further North than we are South, they've always added to play after the schedule close over there.
Are you suggesting their change their geographic location for our benefit Dutchman?
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I thought Cummins was outstanding last night and agree the Cricket England are playing will give plenty of chances and when they come take them.
Must note Test cricket is alive.

Re: Ashes 2023
They often have to go off for bad light in the evening up there. Surely it would make sense to start half an hour early when they've lost time.am Bays wrote:Height of summer in Adelaide the sun sets about 20:45, sunset is scheduled for 21:45 in Birmingham tonight.Dutchy wrote:Cricket times are so stupid, surely you start at least half hour early this morning and play an extra hour tonight, its light until 9.30pm over there atm!

Re: Ashes 2023
Carey showing why he is clearly the best keeper in the country with his hands.DOC wrote:Cummins gets Anderson (great catch by Carey and an impressive display behind the stumps.).
As a crusty old "back stop" who grew up on Rod Marsh I'd like to see Alex use his feet more to take the ball on the inside of his body and limit the amount of time he has to dive unnecessarily. This will also improve his range he covers and allows to the slips to stand a fraction wider.
The English style of taking the ball in front and or on the outside and riding with it sh!ts me to tears. IMO its been creeping into the Australian keeping style over the last 5-6 years.
Personal Opinion

Re: Ashes 2023
Boland did a great job last night. Highest test score. Still think it is a poor decision though to use a night watchman.
I hope he shows resolve again tonight and that rubs off.
This is the golden opportunity to set the series up.
