It’s happening all over the state, big farmers buying out the small guys, machines replacing workers. Which means less families, less teachers, police, doctors, nurses coming into the area.
It’s amazing that for example, yorketown, Edithburgh and warooka previously had thriving individual clubs.

It's happening on the otherside of the gulf already. The SANFL has released a consultation paper regarding the rationalisation of clubs and leagues.
Gives everyone considerable time to get their heads around proposed mergers with arch rivals.
There’s talks there could be a restructure across a number of the northern leagues- APFL, NEFL, NAFA, BL&G & YPFL. The problem in the APFL is the southern clubs (Two Wells, Angle Vale, Virginia) are effectively becoming suburbs of Adelaide which means their junior numbers are huge and the number of top age juniors in each grade far outweighs the traditional country clubs.
Could we see these 5 leagues pulled apart and reassembled?

I think it's only a matter of time before all comps get rezoned. Failing junior numbers and participation will be the major contributor.

Hummocks is closer to Eudunda than red hill

Lochiel to Redhill is 45km
Port Wakefield to Redhill is 77km
Not sure what routes you were taking but Hummocks is closer to Redhill than Eudunda

As much as it saddens me I’m hearing more noise than I hoped for, watching the divide in the APFL juniors over the past 15+ years though makes me realise it’s for the betterment of everyone, I guess I’m a little selfish as I love the APFL and all the clubs involved. I’m always made feel welcome to all of them.
