I used to go through this rigmarole and finally decided enough was enough. As you mentioned there seemed to be better deals for some with no rhyme or reason why it should be so. We were on platinum as "Diamond Subscribers" since the late 90s and it made me feel like I was going cap in hand and asking for some sort of charity instead of what should have been a standard loyalty bonus.

I, too, used to go the disconnections route with varying levels of success. Eventually when I rang the last time I told the rep I wasn't interested in "analysing my viewing habits" or horse trading this or that package and that I was about to make him a one time only offer. $50 take it or leave it. After the usual "I'll have to talk to my manager", lo and behold the manager came on the line and he said he couldn't approve my offer and would like to analyse my viewing habits. Told him the $50 was off the table as it was one time only. Offer was now $40. He saw where this was going and asked me if I would like to disconnect at the end of the month. Told him "No now would be fine". Boxes were returned to parcel pickup within half an hour and I felt clean again.
I've never returned a box and never been charged for it, I kept them in the shed for a few months just incase but nothing.
Same.

Had the same last week.
Parked a fair bit away from the shopping centre and no cars anywhere near me. Go in for about 10 minutes tops and when I return some pelican has parked in the very next bay and only about 20cm from my car and put a dent in my door. There must have been about 40 spare parks around me too FFS

There's a mathematical formula for this with there being more likelihood of it happening the newer/nicer your car is.

Yep, agree.

And then there’s when you’re on a lonely country road, the only other car is just behind you, right up your arse.

So you wonder why they don’t overtake, so you maybe slow down slightly to let them through, but no they stick like glue.

Then you speed up to lose them, but no way, they’ll speed up to make sure that they’re still right up your arse.

:-??

Was driving back from Normanville Saturday morning when I came around a bend near Sellicks and noticed this huge statue overlooking the water, I didn't quite know what to take of it, I thought I was in Argentina for a moment.

Buddhist statue next to the Temple there as you head into the deviation (heading towards Normie)

Been up for over 10 years I reckon, Doug the publican had t-shirts made up with an image of the statue pointing out that you can see the Victory pub from there.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

You thought you were in Argentina because you saw a Buddhist statue? :?
Isn't Argentina predominately Catholic and Christian?

I've seen plenty of Buddhist statues in Thailand though, even climbed a few temples with Buddha on top. There's a massive one in Phuket with a great view.
