Brock Gifford named Creeks new Coach.

No rumours of incoming players but heard they may have lost ruckman Cole to work opportunities overseas ??? Big loss if true

Churchill definitely would be, reckon he turns 20 next year. Pretty sure Hooper is the same though stand to be corrected. That would be 9 points with the inclusion of Schulz as well.

Don’t reckon those are correct. Who’s Lang? As in Jack?

They well might not be as you would know FOD, but had heard Jack might make a few appearances, but wont play all year? Curran was a rumour as he's heavily linked through family with Gibbs.

It's also my understanding that the "points retention" saga has become a little fishy. I wont go as far as calling it underhanded, but.... 2 clubs have stated they need the extra's to keep players who do yes, have points allocated to them, but clearly wont be used in the league side and after my own investigation through Playhq this is what I can find and have heard:

Willunga
Chris Swanson- 14 reserves games in 2024 0 league
Tarkin Lovett- 17 reserves games in 2024 0 league
Jack Redden wasn't a registered player in 2024, so I guess that raises a question on exactly who's player he is & can they ask for point to "retain" him
.
McLaren
Lachlan Cooper- Played reserves in 2023 @ div 6 or something, & didn't play 2024
Alex Habib- 14 reserves in 2024, 2 league games
Cameron Jarrett- Was left out of their prelim finals side and if rumours are correct is leaving
Patrick McMahon- Didn't play after round 15 due to concussion, and again is rumoured to not play again.
So 2 reserves players, 1 likely retired, 1 possibly leaving, so their current list only needed 2-4 points

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm sure points don't count for reserves games, and certainly shouldn't be used as an excuse to get more points for the club to recruit, and if they are asking (rumour) for extra points to retain retired players, I'd say that's less then ethical.

Why cant the GSFL see what is just so obvious to the rest of us.

Sorry poorly worded by me. Yes Curran was definitely a rumour and with the family connection would be fantastic. But he’s 4 points hey lol.

Hadn’t heard that about Jack but I’m sure would be welcomed.

I’d call it underhanded!

I did state something pretty similar about these players being B graders or not playing at all a few weeks back.

Come on now…. You think it’s their responsibility to look past what the clubs have presented to them in their applications? lol [emoji12]
It’s not hard to do - we both have hey.
Anyway, they won’t be changing their decision now.

Are you saying they don't actually check what the clubs are submitting for points allocation? Surely that can't be accurate? Thats actual incompetence if they are not, or maybe extreme laziness? Or doesn't understand the criteria's / process so this is a way to remove yourself from responsibility?

Well they have applied for extra points and instead been given points reductions for existing players (which granted is a much better idea) because they can’t play all their listed points players following the reduction in points with the new system. So on the face of it that is correct and I imagine that was checked.
But, as you’ve pointed out those listed points players include guys who have never played A grade for them and others that didn’t play at all.
Sure doesn’t look like delving a little further and asking the questions we have has occurred does it.
