I live a peaceful nice life in a country town 2.5 hours north of the CBD with 200 people. I have 3 wonderful kids who are only just discovering the world.

The fact a bunch of suits on the other side of the planet so out of touch with the reality of what is my world can literally transform my children's lives in a matter of seconds is bloody crazy!!

We get one life.......my kids just like my grandparents don't deserve have to spend a long period of it living through a world war. Be better.

So true.....just the 'scale' of politics really hit home in recent weeks.

Like i don't have a beef with the Chinese. In fact, there is lots I like about Chinese culture. Call me simple but i have no interest in ruining each other's lives. They do them and I'll do me over here in the middle of nowhere.

What it has done is make think more about my family in particular might grandmother (east london did recall WW2 very vividly) and even my partner (born and lived in Belfast through the late 90's which is why she in Australia) what they went through.

So 10% tariffs on our exports to the US.

If we export so much beef to the US, why would me import it? I can never understand that.

So the orange idiot has unleased his economic war on friend and foe regardless of any relationships that have been built over decades and wars standing together.

US importers will now pay a 10% tariff on any goods imported from Australia and while they work out what he's actually doing with beef, which he intimated could be a total ban, we wait and see what impact this will have on our primary producers.

Anyone in Australia who laughed or celebrated in Trump being made President can think about the economic impact this will have on their fellow Australians.
