The experience of Lehman, who guided the innings much like he did in the Domestic One Day GF, and Ross, who is a T20 pro, got Kensington to a good total of 171. More than they might have expected half way through the innings.

WT were doing it well with the bat until the power play was taken. As is often the case, a T20 game is won or lost on the outcome of a power play, and with Drew and Manenti set, they made the choice to take the power play a bit early with the chance to cruise it home. Instead, they were both out, the boundaries dried up and Kensington didn’t let West Torrens back in the game.

A good quality game with Kensington winning both the women’s and men’s on a hot day at Adelaide Oval.

Not very good with cutting and pasting footage (sorry guys) but one of the preppy book worms wasn't happy with a decision against the U/19's after an umpire deliberation. 27.44 to 28.23 on the Frogbox coverage

I'd give the role to Hags....he's outspoken....but he's highly successfull....and knows what its like at first class level

Saca won't like that however.....as they don't like people.....who aren't yes men......so Hags probably counts himself out

TBH, if I had to wear a hat like that I'd be throwing it too, over the fence into the Torrens though.

I hope he watched the replay and realises how pathetic he looked.

Even 1st grade is cancelled because it's hot! Gone soft.

Games should have started 9am. Could have played 3 hours or so before it got genuinely hot.

If West Torrens hold their current position and the rule is 2 up and 2 down

All the toys will definitely be thrown out of the cot

..WTv TTG this week as well. Could be crucial to survival for the winner of this game.

A century from Englishman Dan Mousley, followed by his wicket of Halfpenny on the last ball of the day gave West Torrens the edge at stumps on day 1. West Torrens made 9/289 dec, with an 8th wicket partnership of 83 between Mousley and Els saving the day. TTG 1/3 at Stumps, the early declaration paying off.

Woodville in a strong position against East Torrens in the other "battle for relegation" game, making 5/301 at Stumps against East Torrens.

Port cleaned up Sturt for 74, before making 7/198 at Stumps. A big chance for an outright and to jump clear of Sturt to 2nd.

Adelaide, who hold on to 4th position, will want to defend their 253 against Kensington (0/12 at stumps) to keep a clear gap to the bottom half of the ladder. A loss will most likely see them in a logjam fight for a finals place, and relegation, for the bottom 5 sides.

A rare handled ball dismissal in the U17s today
Batter defended it down into the ground and it bounced up towards the stumps. Instinctively tapped it away, reflex action, a bit like Graham Gooch vs Big Merv in the Ashes years ago, maybe 1993?

7 down, 3 to go. Is the premiership now a race for 5?

Adelaide made light work of Kensington's batting line up, bowling them our for 131, defending their 253, to put them right in the mix.

Sturt slogged it out all day with the bat (78 & 8/199), to avoid giving Port Adelaide an outright result after Port declared their 1st innings closed at 7/198.

Woodville declared at their overnight total of 5/301. All of East Torrens' batsmen chipped in to chase down the total, 5/302, with 5 overs to spare.

West Torrens declared at 9/289 last week and had both Tea Tree Gully's openers dismissed early, but despite keeping wickets in hand from that point on, TTG left their run too late. 14 overs with the 2nd new ball saw TTG lose 4/54 and fall 20 runs short, finishing up with a draw at 8/269. Frustration for both teams, one of which will probably see themselves in Division 2 next season.

It was West Torrens 4th Draw for the season, in a quirk of the points system, they have lost less games than the ladder leading Kensington, but sit firmly in the relegation zone with three rounds remaining.

Kensington 100
Port Adelaide 95
Sturt 85
Adelaide 80
_____________
East Torrens 75
Tea Tree Gully 45
West Torrens 40
Woodville 20

Round 8
Sturt vs East Torrens
West Torrens vs Kensington
Tea Tree Gully vs Port Adelaide
Adelaide vs Woodville

250 for West Torrens. Pretty important 46 from James Reuther at No 10 gives them a total to bowl at

Only 145 on the board for Port
