Another even team performance from the Eagles. West were competitive and have no doubt improved on last season. Clacker valve was getting a work out when West kicked the first 3 goals of the last quarter quickly but to our credit, we steadied and ran the game out well. Loving Ethan Grace on the HBF and Clohesy is starting to live up to the pre-season hype. Jack Hayes has added a different dimension to the forward line.
A better than usual crowd for an Eags v Bloods game. Anyone know the figure?

Woodville-West Torrens stretched its unbeaten run to four with a comfortable 41-point triumph against West Adelaide at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

Sitting at the top of the Hostplus SANFL League ladder with a 4-0 win-loss record, the Eagles fended off the Bloods in the second half while piling on 10.7 to 5.4 after the main break.

Sam Jacobs’ charges had strong intent to use the ball well by foot as they racked up 33 more kicks and 36 more marks while banging on 11 more scoring shots.

Veteran Eagle Jack Hayes booted three goals while Kade Herbert, James Rowe, Sam Nicholls and Daniel Sladojevic each chimed in with a pair.

Hard-working Geelong recruit Ted Clohesy continues to warm to the standard of the competition, this time collecting 31 disposals, five clearances and laying seven tackles.

Fellow signing Ethan Grace chalked up 25 disposals and a goal while Max Beattie’s strong start to season 2026 continued with 26 possessions for the home side.

West had Kobe Ryan working industriously for his 29 disposals and 11 tackles while Glenelg signing Ben Ridgway had 27 disposals.

Bloods captain Sam Frost was able to hunt the Sherrin more freely this week after tagging Matt Allen last round as he finished with 23 disposals and two goals.

He was joined by teammates Hamish Ellem, Tom Scully and Harvey Griffiths in booting two goals for the visitors.
