Ladhams - 40 disposals, 5 marks, 3 tackles, 19 clearances, 47 hitouts, 1 goal. Fair afternoon.

Appreciating a good run at the moment from a personal and family perspective.
One daughter has just moved into her dream home that just got built, other daughter has just signed the papers for her build to begin. One son started a new job two weeks ago which will see him on roughly the same money but about 30 hours less a week and the youngest is back to his old self, I haven't seen him so vibrant, confident and happy for so long, he longer spends all of his downtime in his room and after feeling like quitting footy only a few weeks ago he has bounced back and got in the best players for the first two rounds.
Pretty happy with procedings.

Same here with my new job. When I left my long term employer in 2021 I made a bad call, didn't do enough research and didn't ask enough questions lasted 11 months and went back.
This time round I knew the people, the culture and I'm loving it. The place is full of people who are glass half full and looking to fill it further. Motivated, driven, happy to be at work and make the most of the day and it's the complete opposite of the dreary, negative space I was in before where the dark cloud of uncertainty hung over us.
I'm being exposed* to things I had no involvement with previously like P&L statements, margins etc and I get to see in real time the rewards the team is getting from our efforts. Upskilling on AC units ( Package units, ducted, split ducted etc ) is giving me more skills to develop professionally.
The role is evolving into one I'm really enjoying, 40% estimating, 40% BDM and 20% Project Management but that will ebb and flow as the jobs do.
MTX club tickets with the employer I can use (4x) ( Had dinner in Bespoke Saturday night ), suppliers taking us to lunch and dinner, trip to Melbourne next week, Sydney soon after don't hurt either.

Mrs Boon joined me with the new boss Saturday night for dinner and while she hasn't said so to me she told the GM that she's noticed a change in me in 3 weeks since I joined and when she did I took a moment to reflect myself on it.am Bays wrote:Good to read, mate.
I do come home from work energized after a positive day, I'm sleeping better because I'm more mentally and physically active than before and by all accounts I don't shut up about work at night because I'm learning all the time.
Also haven't drunk anywhere near as much mid week ( always have Monday and Tuesday off it ), where I was not self medicating as such but I wasn't driven to get out and do things. My gym app is currently at a monthly PB already with 3 days to go.

I did see the gates locked and For Lease sign up at the old joint the other week when navigating through the streets to the brickworks.Booney wrote:Mrs Boon joined me with the new boss Saturday night for dinner and while she hasn't said so to me she told the GM that she's noticed a change in me in 3 weeks since I joined and when she did I took a moment to reflect myself on it.am Bays wrote:Good to read, mate.

I get kicked off once I'm idle (despite clicking yes to the "keep me logged in" option").
Can't login via the login screen so I have to go through via google: 2-3 minutes to load.
Click on random thread: 2-3 minutes to load.
Click on "post reply" to be prompted to login: 2-3 minutes to load.
Go to topic: 2-3 minutes to load.
Takes me to page one of thread: 2-3 minutes to load.
Click on last page of thread: 2-3 minutes to load.
Find post that I want to reply to: 2-3 minutes to load.
Write my drivel and then click submit: 2-3 minutes to load, that's if it doesn't boot me off again.
It's getting in the too hard basket, I often wonder if the site is getting less populated due to interest or content, it could well be that it's too much effort to post.

Also worthy of note: "Despite distancing himself from government and authorities, Freeman was also a long-term welfare recipient who received regular disability pension payments." Clearly being a sovereign citizen, independent of the state, didn't stop him from holding out his hand for a slice of Our Tax Dollars.
Good riddance.

I'd be surprised if many of these sov cit types weren't welfare recipients. Without wishing to throw excessive shade at any who might be harmless/non-violent, they mostly just don't seem... employable. Or likely to be gainfully self-employed.
