It's not the ICC Official Teams of the Year, but chances are the Cricinfo teams would be similar to those teams:

So much for CLR James' famous quote. "Cricket speaks in languages beyond that of politics"

*sigh*
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I've been keeping track of and reading about this via Cricinfo and to a lesser extent Wisden and I'm sure it'll be a big topic of discussion for the cricket people and podcasts I listen to this week/once the Sydney Test is finished.

They could only attract about 10 people to games so they play their T20 comp now with all their stars

A first-class record which has stood since 1794 (not 1974, but 1794) has been broken in Pakistan:

Marcus North set to become an England selector.

Too many cooks?

North will join head coach Brendon McCullum, director of cricket Rob Key and the Test and limited overs captains – Stokes and Harry Brook – in selecting England squads, with some input on the final XI for matches. Performance director Ed Barney and head of player identification David Court are also involved in selection.
