Re: SAAFL Div 7 2008
Confirmed they are not in Div 7 this year (from a good source)
Sacred Heart have nominated for Div 7 and Div 7R. Think they will have their C grade in Div 7, E grade in Div 7R (which would must probably be the older blokes) and D grade in C2. The lower grade coaches are pushing to have 5 sides cause they are leaving too many players out but i think a lot of those players may have left, so shocs could maybe pull their 5th side out by the cut off if they dont have the numbers.
Why would their E's be playing a higher grade than the D's?
C2 probably a higher standard than Div 7R i would have thought
can confirm that this is easily the case - a decent c1 team would spank most reserve sides - and having seen most of the 6 reserve finals all, blackfriars and golden grove would have possibly made c1 finals but struggled against uni and goodwood.
uni's sides will be as mentioned
div2, div 2res
div 7 then div 7res
c2 (pretty much a side apart - many folk who played c1 in 2007) then c3, c4 (the guys from roseworthy) then c6
I must admit that i had my doubts regarding the revamped 1-c6 system last year but think that from a clubs point, the ability to have triple headers with the a and b grades is sensational and that high achieving a grade sides generally have the stronger c grade sides.
would like to think that flinders uni and ovingham would have the ability to get b grade sides so that division 7 is the grade in which a grade sides start playing each other with the occasional c grade thrown in.
must admit that april can't come soon enough
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

Crusty is going alright still new to the caper but he'll be fine. He has some blokes lined up which he will be speaking to in the coming weeks.
