Wattle & Motley, I never played footy with Chris, but I have seen him in action from VERY close range. You really don't have to be a player to form an opinion on peoples ethics, but it does pay to know some of their history, good or bad.
I stick by my original words, taking jumpers just because you win a premiership is stealing, if thats part of your life, then good luck to you.
I wish you all the best of luck, and lock everything up!

Your clearly not a player Ruppie , you clearly have not played in a winning Grandfinal and you certainly dont know about the footy jumper issue . 80 - 90% of players keep their GF jumpers and those who dont wish they did later on . The most important items I have from my football life are 2 jumpers from GFs nd I will be proud of them and the memories that go with them forever ! Its not stealing , its a part of the celebration , and continued celebration of winning a flag . :D If you think its stealing then I suppose you take the Ice back to the bar after you finish your drink ?

Bagman, you're right, I am no longer a player, played in 3 footy grand Finals, won 1 only and the club offered the players their jumpers. As I said previously, it is not a given that they are taken without them first being offered. I have also been involved in coaching a winning footy Grand Final in SAAFL so you are a long way off the mark. What does a club do if the jumpers get taken and they can't afford to buy or get a sponsor to buy their jumpers. Different story if you purchase your own jumper (as they do at Ovies, Pulteney, Adel Uni.) Wake up sailor, your ship is leaving port without you!

Once again you havent done your homework Rupe, I won a flag at Ovies in 04. We were given our jumpers, no one had to pay. The club was grateful to us for winning an undefeated flag. Wingfield let the b graders have their jumpers last year, then when they discovered some of them were leaving deecided they wanted to charge them. I wonder if the guys who didnt leave Wingfield are being charged?

good work Hawk , 4th reply with no resopnce availible .Not financial ! How does a club get fiancial - by winning flags PAL . If the club cant win a flag and make more from the success than the cost of the jumper for the players that got the flag for them then you and Zedman , Ruppie and the other blokes who WON flags opinion about Keepin jumpers are probably because you were passengers . If you made a difference or cherrished it you would ALWAYS keep it !
Your comments are of someone who obviosly was NOT at the wolves GF last year . The boys and ME and my WIFE and KIDS ( 3 ) were there , and had to go because of some F... W...s King Hit some of the blokes who gave the club the oppertunity to make some money !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guys who are making some of the comments on this page have no idea about the whole story and are talkin SHI.! :^o

You might be suprised what i do know mate and who i know from Wingies. I never said you cant keep the guernseys if the club allows it. If your comfortable ripping of your club thats up to you. Why not get a tattoo that can have your logo and premiership year on it, there is plenty of blokes who do that. I was there mate as i was also at the Agrade prelim and having beers in the club that night so dont presume rubbish because we dont agree. If the gypsy and his followers werent all about themselves then maybe the Bgrade flag would have generated some finance and their wouldnt be any issue.

Was this Newman guy the B Grade coach at Wingies? I can't believe everyone's talking about a div 7R coach. I can't believe he was talking himself up either! What a nonce. I could get a job coaching div 7R. I'm surprised they can actually find people to do it.

A club gets financial by players paying subs and supporting functions, how much cash do you get for winning the Div 7r flag??

My beleif is if you are unfinancial (Meaning you owe the club money) then yes you can be held back. Mind you no matter what if i was to win a flag at a club i would pay for the jumper anyway....... just being involved in a premiership is an honour.
