In a club structure, Chris found it impossible to be a team player. By that , I mean that the team he had control of, did not put pressure on the side above his. The players under his guidence, were undisiplined off the field on many occasions breaching club rules. Chris no doubt has some abilities, but I fear , we will never see the best of him because he, like most of his players want to be big fish in the little pond

Sounds like crap to me i no for a fact last year he pushed for all his players to play as high as thet could.Half played in the A grade at wingfield and the rest won the B grade flag,Knowing Klompy myself he told me he put up his hand to play A grade but even though he kicked over 100 goals he couldnt train so that ruled him out, nothing to do with Chris.Klompy and his mates all followed Chris to Ovies with his mob,and he talks highly of Chris's coaching as has been said hes hard its his way or the highway.2 flags in arow aint bad

Wattle, take your blinkers off. Chris Newman is only as good as the clowns that follow him. obviously that's you! I don't think you need to be a Rhode Scholar to work that out. It's still only May, sit tight and hang on, the ride gets better as the season progresses.

Matty Newman would've played half a dozen B Grade games in the first half of the year, whilst also playing 17s on the Sunday, before giving B Grade the flick and playing C's. Am happy to be corrected with facts, but Matt was never "turned away" - his choice to play C's.
Matt Laird, don't know the guy so highly unlikely he trained his guts out for 4 weeks in Charlie's time at GX. Josh Murphy was an u17 at the time, was not happy with the game time he was getting in the B's so went with Matt Newman to play C's. Again, happy to be corrected with fact.
Charlie showed interest in kids who wanted to train and do the right thing by the club, and pretty much all of them are still at GX. Not all clubs measure success on Div 10 premierships.

Every player has a right to being under a good coach which more often then not leads them to playing better football. Which many players have done in following Chris. No-body wanted to stay at wingfield. and the ones that did said last year on GF night they weren't staying becuase hole chip shot incident.
On the self-desructing theory at Ovingham. 53 registered players with more players signing up each week. 18 better then average players not selected every week. When you have a decent arguement get back to me... So I can also shoot it down in a blaze of fire.
Things are looking up to me.

How many original Ovingham players 1/ are getting a game
2/ have left the club
Is that considered to be a fair question? If your numbers are correct, why didn't the club nominate another team, that to me would have been a sensible thing to do and why would you continue to sign players if they are not getting a game, the place is not big enough to swing a cat so what do they all do, hang around outside the loo's or something?

On the job as always eh Vits! Well said, problem is, it's a Div 10 mentality that's been inherited, refer earlier posts by Rupert

[with not a lot of hard training]. a SAAFL goalkicking record. SAAFL div medal & a premiership why would he want to play Bs, leave that to the younger guys on the way up. just my opinion on that particular player at that time of his playing time
