Lots of other clubs have close to or that many people on their oval each week aswell. And to go with that your points don't make much sense:

If you run your club so well, why is your oval bad? No matter how many times i read that, it just doesn't make sense....

You sure M.Vale is the biggest???? Anyway being big does help, yes there would have been alot of hard work going into your club but having the population base in the first place is a huge plus.

reppoh_eht hard to understand how anyone from Flagstaff Hill can have a go at Morphett Vale or any other club. Flagstaff the club that rates a 'C' Grade flag as more importanmt that the A and B competition. Morphett Vale are and deserve to be the SFL leaders they do work hard from top to bottom. Not much chance of saying at Morphies I won't play B's but will play C's. That is why they can make any comment they want to, they have earnt that right. Flaggies great Oval but not much else going for it. P.S. I am not from Morphies just respect hard work and the success that it brings. Bring on the finals will your club be there????

ps - great website flagstaffhill have got, you should check it out, maybe your club could learn something from it !! go the pigs!

It’s a pity you people don’t understand how it all works the 2 clubs I have been involved in had the traffic that cyclops mentioned unlike MOST of the SFL and the grounds are looked after by the council or subcontractors. One club had subcontractors who used to play at the club and worked hard to keep it in good condition the other club who ever looks after it does not seem to give a shit. This shows in other posts ratings
No club in the SFL has the money to look after there oval.
Having been on committees, having dealt with councils, experience in greenkeeping I’m with you cyclops
fly... I would say about 95% of the time I have posted facts about the RFC which are true and accurate. The other 5% would be misinformation but my strike rate is rather high. The only clowns I see on here are the likes of yourself who are too arrogant to face the facts. The boys from RFC I drink with are good mates and even they say there are quite a few dead heads at the club that continually drag it down. The RFC needs a clean out of deadwood and the exit of yourself would be a good start. Maybe then it would return to its glory of many many years ago. Personally I'd like to see that but its gonna take a hell of a shake up.
Good mates hey???Do they know you are the bitter, twisted, negative fool that continually bags the club they represent on this forum???I wouldn't think so because if they did and still drank with you would be cause for major concern, perhaps they are the deadwood that are dragging us down.I am sick of slinging off at you and your misinformed opinions and cant be bothered with your crap any more, you can sledge us as much as you like but this is the last post that i mention or respond to anything concerning you,you dont even deserve that, you have proved to be the greatest moron on this forum on a consistent basis.I will be happy to contribute here about the sfl reynella and footy in general but have typed my last word directed at you.

Was not having a go at Morphett Vale, was simply stating the Cyclops either needs to learn to type properly or atleast raise some decent points. Like i said not a dig at M.Vale just at Cyclops :P

I would like to point out that the lack of shelter at Porties has been on the agenda for at least 7 years now.
The cricket club were quite happy to build and fund a shelter 30 metres wide on the outer wing immediately next to the timekeepers box next to the small dugout, but were denied due to "other sports" at the ground unwilling to fork out $1500 to pay their share as they deemed it as uneccesary.

The location of the current rooms IS a problem but can't be avoided.
Council were quite willing to bulldoze and rebuild years ago but way too much asbestos means that no-one will work on it, nor wil the council allow people to work on it.
Unfortunately, Porties clubrooms was the 2nd built in the area, can't remember the 1st, but with a little foresight they could've learnt from other clubs back then and built the clubrooms near the boundary.
So it is an issue that has been addressed, the clubrooms can not be moved or rebuilt, more adequate all year round shelter has been proposed and building permission accepted by the PNCC and the Onka Council, but as mentioned above,,,, others don't want to spend $1500 towards a $10000 project to make the idea happen.

What about applying for a Council grant? Each year they ask for reports from sporting clubs on what projects they want to do and offer grants to help out. Porties should look into that I think a verandah would be great along the boundary there, the oval is great just little things like that can make a huge difference. Can imagine it built in with a fire place and chimney in the middle, would be great in the winter cos its far away enough from the club to have a small fire.

And Cyclops the argument wasn't about turn over on ovals or durability of the ovals but some good points. I still have to say the Emu oval is absolutely terrible and Im sure most people would agree.

It was way back, approx 99 or 00 the Bombers were playing at hackham and Draper was sledging a fair bit, I reckon he ruffed up a younger hawk in the pocket and the hawk's mum jumped the fence swinging the bag and threatning to send him back down the hill.. Draper just stood there and deflected a few, laughed and got on with the game. Would be interesting to hear his side of the argument.

If it was in the last few years with all the camera phones it would have made Almost football legends for sure.

After last years GF defeat I decided to head to Vatican City to seek a higher meaning and to find the answer to how a bunch of pussy foots could manage to win 4 premierships in a row....with the Papal visit I find myself back and look forward to the 2nd half of the season.....the Bombers are just starting the same run as last year but may be a touch better prepared....write these boys off at your own peril....I certainly look forward to playing the prelim specialists in HV, Cove and Reynella!!!!!. The mere thought of pressure football send shivers down their spineless backs......

As far as ovals go, here's my two cents:

Aldinga - good surface - glad the rains came though, it was dry as hell earlier in the year!
Brighton - swamphole
Christies - not bad but a bit exposed
Cove - might make a good auskick ground
Flaggies - haven't been there this year yet but last year it looked like a cow had stomped across the ground making holes everywhere
Hackham - good oval all round
Happy Valley - lake. Thought it might be a good idea to go and get stoned in the middle of it one Friday night a few years ago. Ended up saturated and lost one of my shoes. :(
Lonsdale - shithouse, and the air-raid siren's probably woken up a few babies in its time
Marion - A football oval should not have a race track around it.
Morphett Vale - good surface
Morphy Parks - f**k me, where do I begin? The boomerang shape, the cricket pitch/concrete rabbit warren in the centre, the overhanging trees - ah well, at least they were finally allowed to put up their new lights.
Noarlunga - great oval
Porties - another good one, great for the fitness too!
Reynella - OK, a bit uneven

Come on the Sharks!!
Hey Goose, ya big stud! Take me to bed or lose me for ever.
