Flagstaff the club that rates a 'C' Grade flag as more importanmt that the A and B competition. Morphett Vale are and deserve to be the SFL leaders they do work hard from top to bottom. Not much chance of saying at Morphies I won't play B's but will play C's. That is why they can make any comment they want to, they have earnt that right. Flaggies great Oval but not much else going for it. P.S. I am not from Morphies just respect hard work and the success that it brings. Bring on the finals will your club be there????

ease up VIC - it was a good call by Reppy - no need to throw a cheapie at flaggies, when all he stated was that Cyclops wasn't making sense (as he clearly wasn't)
ps - great website flagstaffhill have got, you should check it out, maybe your club could learn something from it !! go the pigs!

The cricket club were quite happy to build and fund a shelter 30 metres wide on the outer wing immediately next to the timekeepers box next to the small dugout, but were denied due to "other sports" at the ground unwilling to fork out $1500 to pay their share as they deemed it as uneccesary.
The location of the current rooms IS a problem but can't be avoided.
Council were quite willing to bulldoze and rebuild years ago but way too much asbestos means that no-one will work on it, nor wil the council allow people to work on it.
Unfortunately, Porties clubrooms was the 2nd built in the area, can't remember the 1st, but with a little foresight they could've learnt from other clubs back then and built the clubrooms near the boundary.
So it is an issue that has been addressed, the clubrooms can not be moved or rebuilt, more adequate all year round shelter has been proposed and building permission accepted by the PNCC and the Onka Council, but as mentioned above,,,, others don't want to spend $1500 towards a $10000 project to make the idea happen.

It’s a pity you people don’t understand how it all works the 2 clubs I have been involved in had the traffic that cyclops mentioned unlike MOST of the SFL and the grounds are looked after by the council or subcontractors. One club had subcontractors who used to play at the club and worked hard to keep it in good condition the other club who ever looks after it does not seem to give a s***t. This shows in other posts ratings
No club in the SFL has the money to look after there oval.
Having been on committees, having dealt with councils, experience in greenkeeping I’m with you cyclops

I once saw a mother of a hawks player jump the fence at hackham with a handbag swinging it a Draper.. does that count?
KD i typed this description in to Youtube but alas I couldnt find any footage of this hilarious sounding incident - care to talk us thru it?
It was way back, approx 99 or 00 the Bombers were playing at hackham and Draper was sledging a fair bit, I reckon he ruffed up a younger hawk in the pocket and the hawk's mum jumped the fence swinging the bag and threatning to send him back down the hill.. Draper just stood there and deflected a few, laughed and got on with the game. Would be interesting to hear his side of the argument.
If it was in the last few years with all the camera phones it would have made Almost football legends for sure.
