There seems to be a distinct lack of Sturt supporters, on their moral high horse, protesting the opening of this venture...
They were most vocal when Sturt had no pokies.

no, just that the club is trying to attract as much business as possible, not everyone in the area is a football or sturt fan so to appeal to as many ppl as possible (but still trageting a certain market) they would choose a hip, modern name and logo and most probably deck the place out that attracts the targetting clientele...and of that area, im guessing very chic, business, yuppy types, types with ******* CASH!!!!!!!!

Yuppies aren't usually the one's into pokies, who's doing their market research??
sorry mate, should have clariifed...the pokies have their oldies and gamblers...the yuppies will come for the cuisine, drinks and hopefully the atmosphere and ambience of the place...no doubt the place will be separated well for dining and pokies.

as i said, the little old dears and gamblers will take care of the pokies, the yuppies will come for the fine cuisine etc

Seperated well, as in, by a wall? Good. That means the pissed Blues fans will have something solid to stumble into.

I believe the club has posted it's rules of entry... an exact replica of the rules for the Adelaide Club.
Gents must wear ties, pants & blazer (smoking jacket allowed in designated areas).
Summer, shorts are allowed, but must have long socks.
Ladies must have hats & gloves on at all times, & may not frequent the premises-
after 8pm
without being in the company of a gentleman.
Not sure on the policy for those of different relligious beliefs, or "colored".....
Potential members must prove that they are persons of substantial means, & serve a 3 month probationary period, after being nominated by 5 members.

Does that mean Albert Ben Simon is no chance of getting in, that'll create a bit of Hoo Haa
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Albert Bensimon said "Ban the Hoo-ha", so the Adelaide Club did!

What's your point? Sounds ideal

A few months on and it seems to be going very well. Was in there for lunch the other day, introducing it to my family (not all Sturt people BTW) who were all very impressed with the food and service. I am certainly biased but I think it's fantastic what they have done. The pokies are well hidden but also pumping. The beer garden and lounge area are great. Cricket on the plasma, Heinekin on tap, plate full of Barra for less than a tenner - what more could you want?
It's been discussed on db.org but I'd be interested in hearing if any non-Sturt supported have stopped by for a look. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Sounds like the prices have come down, I'll have to suss it out. Sounds a bit classier than the Castle Tavern which Ive sussed out on a few occasions.
