A few facts on the website.

The main reason for the change is that it will save the association (which means all clubs) sustantially on the budget. The amount that the "stand alone" Association Manager would cost on an annual basis was significant. MyCricket is provide free to associations to use.

Plans had been in place to go to mycricket in the early part of this year. However we had to wait until CA had the new database ready. Unfotunately that didn't happen until just prior to the season. Yes there are problems and they are being worked on, so how about a bit of patience.

The ATCA doesn't have a $million budget.

The Association Manager costs aren't as expensive as you make them out to be EE. We are going into Round 3 now and clubs are going to have to backtrack from Round 1 when they do finally get everything up and running which is going to take significant time. Some clubs wont even go back and enter the scorecards at all which could cause havoc come awards time. I can't see any reason why the ladders can't be shown either. Match results are still able to be entered so why cant the ladders be worked out and shown on the website?

evaneagle, i think the frustration being shown is related to the previous seasons stuff ups. In the past couple of years there have been huge problems getting the fixtures right and various other problems. This season has seen a huge improvement in a number of areas. The website issues are understandable but some will just see it as yet another stuff up. The fact that the old website and system had been working well also makes it look worse. Come next season if everything is run the same way as this year and the website is up and running properly then you will see very few (if any) complaints.

Our association went the same route. I personally think MyCricket is shit. It's the association's responsibilty to maintain results/tables, not individual clubs. All MyCricket does is create a lot more work for club statisicians.

A much better option would have been http://www.redaxe.com/cpurchase.asp
$1290 (for 10 clubs) once off payment

Produces a lot more useful info for clubs (including record keeping and far more detailed stats)

New Adelaide Turf Website is atca.sa.cricket.com.au please make sure there is NO www in front of the atca as then it will not work. The 'Spence reports' give people a breakdown of players performances and scores but still no ladders yet...

Have heard news that the ATCA Rep side for the CUSA Cup (or whatever it is called now) is looking very, very strong. Flipper has contacted the best players around the grades and put together a very formidable line up, a far better idea than asking blokes to rock up to a training session for selection. I dare say the team, when announced, would give many A grade district sides a run for their money....
The team at this stage includes the likes of Mitchell, Ozolins, Watson, Ashmead, Parrish, Hook to name a few. All games to be played on turf as well....
These blokes should smash any side put together from the hard wicket comps.
