Adelaide CC should of talked to the curator about the idea...
Seeing as though we know more about turf...
It's just like last year at Glandore the council had the oval fertilised (on the only day we told them not to) and then checked the irrigation system, instead of doing it around the other way the lazy mugs...
just to add a further mockery of the situation I noticed that they also forgot to mark one sprinkler head nearest the netball courts and of course ripped it to pieces.
Should be interesting tonight to see what they have done with it now. It was like fielding in the bunkers of a golf course on Tuesday
I've seen a council guy on a mower run over a sprinkler at Park 23 and claim that he did'nt see it, when I could see it clearly from the boundary line...
What are your thoughts on the Stingrays? I have watched them a couple of times this year and am pleased to see so many young lads getting a crack. Also great to see young Tanner playing A grade but can not beleive he gets wickets let alone bowl?
Southern have had the benefit of a fairly friendly draw so far. Things start to hot up a bit tomorrow with Woodville. That being said they've taken their chances so far and are either top or 2nd in every senior grade. Looks as though their "persevere with juniors" policy is working with quality kids throughout their senior list. Could be interesting future down at the Stingrays.
Without Deitz since Round One Southern have done extremely well. Big test this week against the Peckers --- beat them last Sunday in a Limited-Over thriller, but two-dayers are the real thing.
Sad to read in the Sunday Mail this morning that Ben Cameron has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket due to chronic knee injuries. Top bloke who I'm sure will be missed by all those involved in District Cricket and the SACA.
Went to the Sturt/Southern 20/20 day on Sunday. Saw the A grade and Under 19s. Was a good day put on by Sturt. Good crowd on hand, bar and BBQ. Some excellent cricket played.

I did the same but for Woodville V Adelaide @ woodville. lacked atmosphere severly just like the footy games held there Every one was either in the stands or the cricket club with the commentary over the PA a bit boring at times.

Sturt and Southern are playing a XXXX Gold 50 over match this Sunday 9th Nov in the country at my home Cricket Club, Langhorne Creek. We are located in Sturts country Zone and are one of only a few country clubs to have Turf pitches. Can guarantee that anyone who comes along will be well catered for with a Bar, BBQ etc. Fingers crossed with the weather that it should be ok. 11.00 am start. L.Creek is about a 20 minute drive from Mt.Barker and 10 mins from Strathalbyn for those uneducated city folk. Have heard that Taity will be in attendence but wont be playing for the Blues as he'll be resting for the shield match the following day. Hope to see a few city slicker supporters make the trip up.
It is good for the SACA to take a couple of games to the country. The other game is down north at Nuriootpa Oval which is between Northern Districts and Woodville. I think these 2 sides played at Port Pirie last year. Fingers crossed for no rain on Sunday so these 2 games can get played.
