SIMISTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sensational game that Friday night game, I remember listening to it on radio.
I was at the 2000 GF and although not a Dogs fan it was great seeing a club winning their first ever flag.

Best exhibition of SANFL footy I've been to is the 1973 GF. Just a brilliant game.
Not a great game, but Round 5 1977, Norwood defeated North Adelaide by 25 goals. I don't think I've ever seen one team play so well for an entire game.
Greatest memory - 1975 Grand Final v Glenelg. As a kid following the Redlegs in the 1960s I never thought I'd ever see Norwood win a flag.
The 1973 State Game, SA v Vic at Adelaide Oval was a pearler. Jesaulenko booted 10 and SA just fell short by 4 points.

I've only followed the SANFL in the post AFL era, so memorable matches are few and far between. I've forgotten most of them.
One that stands out is SA vs. Victoria 1994, then VFL vs. SANFL 2005 and then the 2000 Grand Final. The first flag is always the most memorable.

It would have been 1989, as South beat Norwood in 1985 at Adelaide after Scott was sacked.
Round 9 1989
South 5.3 10.4 15.6 17.8 (110)
Norwood 4.3 8.7 11.11 13.14 (92)
Football Park, (D/H) 17834

Wasnt 7 goals...it was 4-5. You had a big wind in the last quarter. I remember saying to my mate at 3/4 time "We'll lose this" as I didnt think we had done enough to get a match winning lead up. Dissapointing to lose none the less. Most memorable thing of that day was the all in brawl after the half time siren which was started by Tim Cook and David Brown going toe to toe and ended up with every single player on the field getting involved...all this while mini league kids were trying to run onto the oval. That and also being spat on by some Centrals feral.
We made up for it when it counted though.
Best games from memory
1988 Sturt v Port
1990 Grand Final Port v Glenelg
1994 Qualifying Final Port v Centrals (extra time match)
1994 Grand Final Port v WWT
1996 Prelim Final Port v Norwood
1999 Grand Final Port v Norwood
2000 R10 Port v Centrals (great comeback)
2001 R8 Port v West
2001 R14 Port v Norwood (Beinke goal on the siren won it)
2001 R18 Port v WWT
2003 R9 Port v WWT
2003 R10 Port v Norwood (close to best match ive ever seen)
2005 R5 Port v North
2005 R11 Port v South

2000 Grand Final Victory is BY FAR the best ever, purely & simply for the fact that it was Our first Grand Final Victory & the feeling of absolute elation & exhiliration was awesome. NO-ONE but a Central supporter would possibly know what it is like, unless you are very old but then you probably can't remember anyway. AND I don't include Eagle supporters because there weren't any long-time "real" supporters barracking for them when they won. MAYBE if they win this year it could be considered but the GF is played in October & we all knows what happens then, don't we? (cough, cough, splutter, gag, CHOKE)!

Northernblue that game in 88 was the best I have seen by a mile. It had everything, I would love to find it on video or dvd.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.
