Was a lot of fun although tough work as skipper trying to get everything spot on and in good time.
I found the pink balls to have a lot more bounce in them but most blokes had no trouble dispatching them well over the fence.
Didn't have the problem with 5 overs from one end as it sped things up. What would have been useful was that the umpires had actually read the rules. The short ones over shoulder height weren;t called once and only half the balls down leg were deemed wide.
All in all a good night concluded with a few cold beers and a bbq. nice

Having played LOA's in the past it is a pretty good standard of cricket. You get the odd poor team though but generally most sides are pretty reasonable. To make a comparison is difficult but Rostrevor was generally around the top 4 consistently in LOA and with what appears a very similar side in A3 this year they are sitting comfortably in the top 4. Not necessarily as straight forward as looking at that but it gives an indication.

Having played LOA's in the past it is a pretty good standard of cricket. You get the odd poor team though but generally most sides are pretty reasonable. That's pretty spot on. Some teams can be quite strong one week and then after 5 or 6 changes the following week notso.
Very interested to see how ROCs have been travelling in the A3s as we've (AUCC) have had quite a rivalry with them over a number of years.

Experimental Rule Grades C1 to C3 for Season 2008/09

For season 2008/09 there will be no bonus points applied to second innings of all one and two day matches.

If both Captains agree, that after the completion of each teams respective first innings, that no further result can be achieved, in which case stumps may be drawn earlier than the scheduled hour for the completion of play. In this instance the scheduled hour for completion of play will not be prior to the sceduled tea break.

Any captain or team who refuses to abide by the wishes of the opposition team who may wish to continue, notwithstanding the above, will be subject to a forfeit resulting in a loss of all match and bonus points and a fine.

Still get the outright points but no bonus points for runs/wickets. If an outright result is possible then the game will proceed and should the outright be achieved then the winning side gets the points for that.

has anybody played agaisnt kilburn yet this year? i just want to know what it is like to play under the lights and whether they use the red or white ball and also if they use the coloured pads or not.

We made 118, the big whale took 5. I don't know how.
Then you guys were 0/80 with wescombe and murpy making 30's, but we took 7 for bugger all through the middle order and you got home with 2 wickets and 1 over to spare.
Good game, bit of chat, Murphy was an annoying bloke, but Zwecky played for us and knew a few blokes, and a few other blokes knew eachother so was played in pretty good spirits.
LBW law is a bit contentious, both sides gave a few and didn't get a few - leads to frustrations!
