NSW needed a subfielder, Darren was the only bloke out already so was seconded to the job.
From memory, he also took a catch, possibly Hookesey.
This is all working from memory, I'm sure he could confirm the exact story.

Looking for a change and an opportunity to play at a very competitive level??
We are a SACCA Div 1 Club and are looking to recruit some new players for season 2009/2010!
We are now newly sponsored by North Adelaide pub who supply us generously each week during the cricket season. Our club has a great mix of players and a great, fun social atmosphere with players, g/f’s, partners and families.
So, if you have been stuck playing in a lower division in another competition and looking to get recognised and want to play in a Division 1 team, send me a message and we can go from there.

Fair call has had a pretty good year got the wells off to good starts this year with the bat and has bowled very well doesn't get hit for much runs and always chips in with a wicket or two.

Pretty close, it was park 25 and I was set to go, being number 11, Darren got out and got the nod, would've been a fair buzz, we we're only 16 or just turned 17 at the time.

He even had the cheek to address it as if it was from the Two Wells Captain thanking the association for the hot weather policy to put them through to the final, not sure what he was thinking as his email address came up with (s.hunter) as it was sent to PDCA!
Its been and gone, why keep bringing it up??
The heat didnt help again this year as the lodge had Atco that week and I think TW had Virginia which would have made the ladder entirely different. Who did Sandy have that weekend? No excuses, trust me! Just thought i'd mention it![]()
Good luck to the teams remainaing.
