I would have thought so... why would anyone want to leave :D ? Im pretty sure all have committed. And another 3 or more spots open up if needed too, a couple become locals and we get an extra one or two for a less than satisfying year.

You get one extra import allocation Ace, Virginia lose one. All other clubs import allocations remain the same as they were this year.

How does Thomas Smith and Justin Schanger go in the APFL.

Very well. They would be easily be Hamley's best 2 players. Good luck trying to recruit them. Those 2 bleed black and red.

I wouldn't put either of these two blokes in the same catergory as McMillian, both are far better players and certainly on a more consistent level. Schahinger in my opinion (and will cause a little controversy) is the best big man playing at the moment in the APFL, Ruck work is excellent and a good tap ruck at that, plus he does more than all other ruckmen around the ground, probably more a midfielder role but needed to in the bombers outfit. Would be interesting to see him in a good side. I saw the BLG grand Final and he would gobble up the Angaston rucks and he would have a good hit out with Wells from Tanunda.
Tom Smith seriously can play and is an extremely smart football with exceptional skills and doesn't mind putting his body on the line. Has had to carry the Bombers midfield for the past few years but similar to Schahinger in a good side where he wasn't so heavily relied on he would be quality. The question would they make it in the BLG, Yes and yes - my opinion only and it probably not worth much at this stage of my life.

Fair call, I'm sure they both could play in the BL&G, Tommy has great skills and plenty of courage and Justin has had a stint with the Dogs in town which is invaluable especially for a big man learning the ropes and he also has a bit of mongrel in him which is something you cnat necessarily teach. Having seen a few games this year in the BL&G, I would think many other APFL players could also cut it in the BL&G. Yes their best are very good (probably as good as the best in the APFL) but its their depth of their best that makes them a stronger competition. I think too many people look at the BL&G as though its the measuring stick. It was no surprise to see that McMillan struggled in the BL&G last season, he struggled at Balak and Mallala for 3 years before heading over there!

Fairo. I guess there has been a few players cross the border over the last few years.
Know of any other unhappy players in the APFL looking for a new start or challenge?

Good points there UnderthePack. Schahinger is a good ruckman and is only going to get better especially with better players around him. As for the best ruckman in the comp he could well be but Im pretty sure that Walker, Light and Banton might also think that they are the best ruckman. I guess its good to see 4 high quality big men going at it toe to toe and all four ruckman go about their business very differently to each other.

Justin towled up Walker once this year and the other occasion was a little closer. Had good battles with Banton and Chugga, but considering Justin rucks all day with no rest I think he did bloody well. Justin had stints at the Maggies and then Eagles. Has never played for the doggies.

Thanks for the info fella's, sounds as though they go ok. McMillan was the only person I could think of that has come over to the BL&G lately.
Was having the convo with work mate who knows them and we were arguing whether they were good enough to cut it in the BL&G.

by all reports mcmillan certainly didnt cut it. do Hummocks expect to hold onto their imports going into 2010?[/quote]

mcmillan did his part but freeling didnt have alot of great players so everyone struggled

would agree with that checkside. Was never expected to be a topliner in the BLG. Would be a good player in a strong team. A good deliverer of the football, but still prone to the odd brain snap. Would be a handy 3rd forward or in a similar role down back

he trained with the maggies and got into their U/19 squad but eagles wouldnt give him a clearance, sometimes clubs dont give clearnces even if they dont have a reason.

Yeah he did a pre-season there and played a few trial games, but due to being in the wrong zone Port would have had to pay a transfer fee to get him and decided against it. So then he went to the much lesser club the Eagles. :)

Lesser club in the Eagles?? There hasnt been too many clubs that have been more professional and consistent finals participants than the Eagles in the past 10 years, :D Port have been a disgrace during this time and will remain so for a while longer yet. I'm pretty certain of who is regarded as the "lesser" club at the moment

yes FGH I am deliberatly ignoring the 35 flags they have won prior :D

Long Plains Tennis club is hosting a mixed netball tournament starting next Tuesday 27th October for four consecutive Tuesday nights running until Tuesday 17th November. It is open to anyone to play or make up a side of their own. Its gonna be just a bit of fun to be had before Christmas and before pre-season starts in Jan-Feb. There will be a bbq running and bar facilities will also be open.

Let me know if you or anyone you know is interested in playing or organising a team. Cheers
