It was the same 20 blokes there on a Thursday night after training and on a Saturday night as we had a supporter base that could fit within a square metre box! But we had a great bunch of blokes that stuck together and did everything together through tough SAAFL div 1 & div 2 times. The senior part of the club has been solely run by 3-4 people with limited help and that has been highly admired by all that know the club.
Like you said, Unless the club can retain some of the juniors to come through the grades the club will continue to have turnstiles revolving with new recruits as the club does not have a family atmosphere or culture. Its the players and volunteers that make the club, with out these two things the bar would be empty Monday through Sunday!
I have a lot of great mates from EFC including players, officials and volunteers.... but this time I think they got it wrong. I shouldn't be worried as I dont even play there anymore but I just feel sorry for big Matt who has put in countless hours and always put the club first!
I wish EFC all the best for the tough 3 years ahead.
Mirror#3 - you are so full of it - I was very surprised to see you @ the club last night to meet the new coach, actually it really doesn't surprise me at all, you know why? - coz straight after it finished you went back to your BF house to tell him the inside goss...
Exit turnstiles you talk about - Mirror#3 you quoted the following "The senior part of the club has been solely run by 3-4 people with limited help and that has been highly admired by all that know the club" these 3-4 people
are the exit turnstiles & the change in direction from the club will fix that exact problem.
With your exit Mirror#3 over to Shoe land puts a smile on my face - Lets just say I am going to enjoy playing against you (that's if you make the senior squad!) & show you that you shouldn't be playing a man's sport.
And for the record so everyone knows how much of a d/head you are, Mirror#3 played at Edwardstown this year alongside myself. I don't need to tell everyone what number he wears!!
