Have heard that the golding to $hoes signing has hit a hiccup. with the deal all but done and clearance put in I beleive it has been knocked back by the league due to some sort of rule. apparently a new team to the comp cannot clear any players to other teams in the same comp, until they have been in for 3 years. Not to sure about this but it is what Ive heard on the grapevine.
INTERESTING - FYI I've just checked 2009 SFL Constitution and Handbook and can not locate any such stipulation/amendment to cover this refusal of clearance request. Constitution was last amended March 2009 after the AGM, and after Edwardstown joined.
Anyone who wants to can have a look, it's on the SFL SportingPulse webpage

UPDATE: I went to SFL AGM tonight and asked the question re Edwardstown players and clearances. The response was Edwardstown can refuse a clearance to another SFL club, using the following rule.
"A player who has been first registered to play as a senior player with an S.F.L. Club, shall
remain with that S.F.L. Club for three years"As all Edwardstown senior players registered with SFL for the first time for season 2009, they can use this rule if they choose to.
My Club is not talking to any Edwardstown players, so was answered as a neutral person. My response was it is "ridiculous" as the rule is being used out of the spirit in which is is written.
