Chris is lookin sensational, very fit. Darren broke his foot early December, but as opposed to your smart ass comment, he has been doing everything possible to keep fit, and looks atleast 5 kg lighter than at your games last year. And yes, i did watch Modbury play last year, and you keep baggin these players yet, they played in your A grade?? How well were you travelling hey??
Chris is a freak physically he can get himself up for games when anyone else would be in bed still..... Only 5kgs A broken foot? thats gonna hurt Darrens SANFL assperations isnt it
And us getting relegated probably answered your question Shirtfront
On a serious note now Shirtfront.......... who else has broadies picked up? is Squire/Wintle continuing? Reeves is back with us i know but hows the team shaping? will be another tightly contested year in the middle/lower part of the table IMO
Squire, Wintle, Leal, Newberry all going round again, have picked up around 15 younger to middle age players, you would know what a premiership does for a team. By all reports training has stepped up, which ofcourse it needs to, but we were pretty much the fittest team last year, even with our 'too old' players, so i'd say we will be fine there. I would like to think the boys are looking at finals.
Premierships help for sure..... fitness and height were the things that we found most challenging and if you have that you should be competative!
From all reports height we have, fitness hopefully too. Looking forward to watchin the boys back at A1 level again. From the games i saw of yours last year, it is going to be a very exciting year as a spectator if the standard is the same. Good footy to watch.

I read somewhere recently that your oval may not be able to be used in the early rounds due to water issues. Any update on that info Shirt front?

Changing the irrigation at the moment was the news from the council i heard, i believe the boys were not allowed to train on it til now, i think they are back there tonight so i'd say it should be ok come Round 1.
Do we have anyone on here from or near to Gaza, haven't heard anything out of that camp apart from the Cupido fiasco? SAme with Sacred Heart any news??? All other clubs seem to have a bit going on here.

Shirtfront, I recently heard that a young ex Trinity Old Scholar & Norwood Junior Locky Warner was training at Broadies this year, if so how is he going out there and is he a chance of playing A's for the tigers?? He was by far one of the fittest blokes as a Norwood junior that i saw out there

Council still to meet further re the irrigation, no final decision made there as yet but only over what sort of system to put in. oval is looking better at the moment and some work being done on it, been a great job of liasion between the club and council to get things moving am very confident it will be up to scratch in the near future, if it continues to thrive be no probs for the start of the season, few other changes happening around the ground as well

And us getting relegated probably answered your question Shirtfront That's a big call straight back to finals in div 1. Top three would be Goodwood,Henley & Gepps Cross??The rest will even and fighting for two spots!! It's that how most people see it? Nick Fosdike was rumoured to be playing at SHOC's this year. Details not confirmed. Think they have picked up a few lads from the Bays

I read somewhere recently that Gaza were forced to sell their pokies. That is untrue as i still hear the bells and whistles every thursday. They look fairly sharp and keen under new coach Nathan Grainger. Talking to some of their A grade last night they said "real keen to put 09 behind them and have a red hot crack in 2010 with the likelyhood of giving the finals a real shake up". They are getting good numbers on the track. The only thing i can confirm re: SHOC is, that both Floreani brothers recently tested positive to an anabolic hair steriod. No suspensions will be put in place as the follical assistance is deemed to have failed on young David.

gaza would be on track at the moment to finish about where they were last year. have lost a couple, but most others seem to be going round again. have picked up a couple of handy on ballers that the coach bought with him. still a bit of time to recruit, so i wouldn't be writing anyone off yet. the old dogs in merritt, ramsey, haythorpe and saddler have definitely got one more good season left in their legs and will lead the team well (sorry to put you in that "old dogs" category sads, but you're around that mark )

As last x amount of years, the big question will be their forwards. Mason travelling overseas, Brewer doing well at North Adelaide does not leave a lot of goal kickers or height up forward for a team already known to struggle to kick a lot of goals. Strong in other positions. Hope they can work it out and have a good season.
