Chambers and Vassal/Kurtze IN
Plant and Thurstans OUT

Hope Plant is in, he was superb last week in close, one of the reasons we turned around our disappointing midfield performances against the Bays recently. Very versatile too, can play pretty much anywhere. Payne to go before him IMO but he had a good game too.

Yep, Plant can play a tagging role too, if required

They'd have to "drop" him if he was only as fit as he was when he came back on the field on Sunday, I was amazed Norman had him on as he was a hindrance.

Will agree with that one Wedgie as he was obviously struggling but to have him in the back half at one point was certainly a mistake.
For mine Johncock and Herring to play so if Chambers comes up it'll be a straight swap for Thurstans if he's not fit but if he is Payne could be the unlucky one.
Certainly like the faith Norman has shown in several players who weren't getting the opportunities in the last couple of years. Jaensch, Johncock, Herring, Kurtze and Bratton have all been very good players for Sturt this year but all of this group - Kurtze or not - are going to have to have better than average games for us to win.
IMHO Jaensch is still a chance of getting drafted or at least rookie listed and the exposure this finals series is giving him won't hurt his chances at all.
Would like to see us stick with the same ruck set up as last week but Bowen is going to have the match the lion hearted Mackenzie around the ground as well as in the ruck.

Agreed, Jaensch for me has stood out in every game and if he does get drafted i hope its by one of the Adelaide clubs!
No Payne will be fine i think, Norman likes the in and under toughness of players like Payne and Vassal against Central.
For me Plant might be the unlucky one as there isnt really a spot in the backlines for him and he isnt a tagger or a midfielder! I think Kurtze has to play, Bowen even with the help of Johncock and Coad cant ruck against Buckets and Giles all day.
Will be very interesting selection.
Who will make way for the 2 returning Doggies??

I think you'll find the first obvious omission for the Dogs will be Leigh Westhoff out for Ian Callinan...

Whilst it will be very tough on the lad, I do think Kyle Jenner will be the other one to miss, this time for Andrew Hayes...

While Hesth hasn't set the world on fore since being moved into defence, I think he is too important defensively not to stay in the side, especialy if Chambers does come up.

Hayes comes in to give some added defensive height, run and flexibility, while Lawry can play forward if need be as well...

If Chambers plays, I think the Dogs would play Lawry on Chambers, Sibenaler on Johncock and Hayes would take Herring I think...

Heater keeps his spot in the side if I were a Doggies selector, sadly I think it has to be Jenner and Leigh Westhoff...

According to Jade Sheedy this morning on the Outside 50 show, he is almost a definate starter and as long as he gets through training, talking to Luke Norman at work, he said he'll play.

I think he will line up for the Double Blues but certainly don't think he will be as effective as his usual output, being underdone obviously, so there is an opportunity to run off him.

From what I'm hearing Toby Thurstans is the likely one to miss, after dislocating the knee last week, it's unlikely the swelling will settle in time...

Brant Chambers has just been reported on ABC radio as saying that he's only 50/50 to play.
A decision won't be made until late Saturday.

If he's admitting he's 50/50 at this point, he shouldn't be playing.

Agree.

Assuming that's true of course ;)

Of course.
But I would think it's of little benefit for Sturt to have Chambers say he's 50/50.

I think the game is as close a result as the Qualifying Final - however, we (the royal 'we') have adjustments possible for this match that will tip the balance.

Sturt has Chambers and Thurstans to decide on
Central has Callinan and Hayes to decide on

Sure, there are also a couple of sideshow possible replacements - but not as significant as this quartet!

All four are class players - whichever side gets one or more 100% fit player(s) out of this quartet into their side, on their feet for four solid quarters - that's the difference...

no offense but do you truly believe jade sheedy would tell the 100% truth in the week of the grand final on whether a gun player is fit or not. I know your on the show outside 50 but to think a player would let the public know about the availbilty of a key player is abit unrealistic. Without doubt he would have been saying the club line.

I think the other test will be his ability to be able to take a tackle as well, if he plays and goes off after being tackled once it will be a massive loss. This would be hard to test at training IMHO as a sturt player tackling him will defiantely not have the same intensity as yves sibenaler ripping him down in a gf.
